It was the first ever, Daddy Daughter Dance at Anchor Beach Community Charter School the last Saturday of July and the money earned would benefit the charter school for programs and expenses. The twist is that the daddies ask their daughters to the dance and Robert planned to ask his daughter as Jill called.

Jill is the widow of James Smith and one of Robert's friends. They haven't spoken in ten years when James died and Sophia was two. Sophia is the daughter of Jill and James and is now twelve years old.

"Jill?" Robert asked as he answered his phone.

"Hi Robert I'm in a bind. It's about Sophia," Jill said.

"It's been ten years," Robert said. "What's wrong?"

"Sophia's school is having a dance and it's a daddy and daughter dance and it's in two weeks."

Robert sighed. "I wish I could Jill, but I can't."

"Why not?" Jill asked as she heard kids voices. "Are you at a park?"

"No I'm at home, it's a long story."

"I will be there in ten," Jill replied which meant she was in the area. Robert knew it was going to be a shock to the system. He met Jill through James and he and introduced Jill to Lena. Lena, Robert and James always hung out together once James came to the high school.

Jill got there and at once knew it was a different home as she rang the doorbell and he opened the door and had Callie on his hip and two boys were behind him.

"Kids? Since when do you have kids?" she asked.

"Lena was pregnant when I left," Robert replied. "I found out in January."

"Are they yours?" she asked.

"DNA proved it," Robert replied upset.

"Why can't you take Sophia?" Jill asked.

"Babies go to the family room to play."

The triplets nodded and went toward the family room.

"I'm taking Callie to her school's first ever, daddy and daughter dance. It's been planned."

"Oh," Jill replied. "It's not like Sophia's your daughter."

"If it was another day yes," he said as she nodded.

"He was your best friend," Jill replied.

"And always will be and Lena introduced us."

"She did?" Jill asked.

"She did," Robert replied. "They were both on Debate Team."

"Why don't you and Sophia come for dinner tonight. She can meet the triplets?"

"Sure," Jill said. "How is Lena?"

"Good and me and my dad are talking again. Long story," Robert said.

"Love to hear it," Jill told him as she left. Robert and Jill are just good friends, but Jill has secret feelings for him. He sighed as she left.

That night, Sophia and Jill met the triplets and they fell in love with them and at night, Jill tried to kiss Robert and he moved away. "I don't like you in that way."

"I see," Jill said as Sophia sighed. "We can make a family."

"Jill I don't love you and I will always love Lena and I'm sterile. Five years ago in April. My kids come first in everything now."

"Oh," she replied as she excused herself and went to the bathroom.

Two weeks later was the last Saturday in July and Robert came in a Horse drawn carriage as the driver parked and Robert got out and rang the Adams Foster doorbell and Stef opened it and smiled.
