Lena was in the chapel as she prayed with her daddy and granddaddy. She was never religious, since almost all churches don't accept same sex couples and their families. She has a faith and prays but that's it. But her baby girl got a serious head injury and she might not come out of this coma and if she did would she remember them? Have behavioral problems? Would her education suffer? She didn't know and it hurt. Her heart is broken and why her baby girl? Why does she get hurt all the time?

She remembered when Stef had her head injury and how she forgot who they were and how that affected their family when Stef moved out for awhile and she feared if Callie were to lose her memory it would be hard for all, especially her, her wife and the boys.

The three held hands as Thomas Adams smiled wide. "Us three were like this when Callie had to stay in an incubator for a month when she was born."

"I remember that and I was lost. I took my little boys home and had to leave my baby girl behind for a full month, but she pulled through and she will pull through this. It is her character and destiny," Lena replied.

Dana, Stef and Robert joined them as they all held hands. Raquel and Robert Sr. joined too.

Stuart spoke. "Papa God. We ask for our girl. You know her, you made her and you made her my daughter's daughter. You know who she is and who she will become. I ask that your hands are on her body and spirit and you heal her. Amen."

In Callie's hospital room, "Why can't anyone hear me? I can hear them and why is mama crying? Why is mommy crying too?"

The moms walked in their baby girl's room, "She will be fine Lena. She's brave and strong and she fights," Stef added.

"I know, but she's my baby girl and in a coma," Lena added. "Do you think she can hear us?"

"She can," Nurse Janice Miller replied. "All people in comas do."

The moms smiled. "MAMA. MOMMY! I can hear you. I'm here. Can't you hear me and what's a coma?"

They stayed and Lena got up and did leg movements on her daughter to keep her limbs in good shape and to keep her moving as Stef did the other leg as the girl smiled to herself as the moms saw it and gasped and gaped. "She smiled," the moms observed.

"She can hear and feel the things you say and do," Janice added. "Keep doing what you are doing."

Robert came before they left. "The boys are upset and acting out and I have decided we should keep them close by."

"Agreed," the moms added.

"Hi baby buggy. "I love you," Robert told her as he left a plush rabbit and plush teddy bear he got at Target and put one on each side of her and kissed her forehead. Silent tears appeared.

"I love you baby girl," Lena added. Lena kissed her nose and cheeks.

"I love you baby doll," Stef said. Stef did the same as all three lingered and left after a few minutes. A few hours later, Callie was put in her private room as Lena stayed Friday night as she saw  a new nurse had  walked in.

"So are you the hired help? Why can't parents take care of their own kids?"

"I'm her biological mother and I'm half white and half black my former husband is white."

"Glad she came out like her father," the nurse said in a rude way.

Lena bit her lip and didn't dare cry.

Callie was shocked. "What a bitch," the girl replied. "She hurt my mama's feelings."

Lena bit her lip. "You must know the Quinn's?"
