What Family Does

"How is he?" Robert asked as Lena told him about Mike. "How are the big twins? And Stef?"

"As you can imagine," Lena replied. "I haven't told the rest of the kids."

"You will do fine," he added. "And I will let our three know and you will be fine."

Robert was at the mansion with the triplets since it is his weekend and he sighed as he put his cell phone away and gazed at his three children and bit his lip. It is the last week of March as he came into the family room. "Have you three agreed on a movie?"

"Yes. Free Willy," Caleb replied.

"How about a Free Willy marathon?" he asked as they nodded.

"And Whale Rider and Flipper too?" Callie asked.

"I guess," he smiled as he kissed her nose as she giggled. "Those tickle."

"Why?" he asked.

"Love and you need to shave."

"We need to talk first. Mama called and Uncle Mike, he um got hurt on the job."

"Hurt? How?" they asked.

"He was hurt by a gun," he replied.

"Is he um okay?" Callie asked.

"He us, but he is at the hospital," he added.

"Mommy?" the three asked scared. "Was she hurt too?"

"No. She was off today," Robert replied. The triplets breathed a sigh of relief at the news, but they were still hurt and scared for their Uncle Mike.

"Any thoughts love bug?" he asked.

"I just don't know what to feel. I'm sad he got hurt, but he changed with me when Ian and Isabella were born. He's mad they can't be at the house and her blamed me for them getting hurt and it wasn't my fault, and he's mad about Mariana and all and it sucks, plus after he lost it with me and was yelling and screaming and he slapped me, it scared me. I know he's not my Uncle, but why does he hate me so much?"

"And mommy feels bad for him and I know it hurt her to kick him out of the house after he lost it," Callie replied. 

"He made a mistake, but you mommy loves you and she needed to let him know that she is your mommy and you are her daughter," he replied. "Understand?"

Callie nodded. "Uncle Mike hurt you again?" her two big brothers asked as she nodded in a sad way. "He didn't mean it."

"Why can't Ian and Isabella be at our home?" Caleb asked.

"No room and remember when they were blue in the face?" Callie nodded. "They are allergic to cats and can't take medication."

"Oh. Like Jesus is allergic to pets?" Caleb asked. Robert nodded.

"I guess I can feel bad for him. He has no one to watch his twins," Callie replied. "But it still sucks."

Robert decided to change the subject and got up. "I will make popcorn and get drinks, chips and candy."

At the Adams Foster home, Lena eyed Matthew, Max, AJ and Jack as well as Callie's friends who were over for the day on a play date since it's the first week of February.

"Is Uncle Mike okay?" the little twins asked.

"He is and mommy and the big twins are at the hospital with him."

"Can we see him?" the others asked.

"It is only immediate family," Lena replied. The kids nodded. 

"We can make him get well cards," Lexi replied since she was over along with her two womb mates Alexander and Christian since their daddy Armando was working still and their other daddy Micah was at the store.
