Color Doesn't Make A Family. Love Does

In Callie's private room, her vitals were being taken and her blood pressure was a tad bit high as Lena watched the nurses tend to her only baby girl and her absolute dream girl. She cried for the abuse her daughter went through at the hands of Bella Kirk and the two girls that helped her, Dora and Dory Cabot.

What they did to her daughter was degrading and humiliating as Lena's heart broke for her daughter as she remembered how she was teased by Nancy Kirk when they were little kids in school, but it was nothing compared to what those three older girls did to her daughter. They not only dumped black tempura paint on her, but they took her clothes off and chained her up to the football post. 

How could three sixteen year old girls do this to a ten year old girl, my ten year old baby girl? Why? Lena asked herself as she wiped her tears.

Nurses Deborah Fields and Marley Smith came to see Lena. "She's fine for now."

"Why hasn't she talked?" Lena asked scared.

"She's in shock," Deborah replied. "And we heard what happened."

Lena nodded. "I went through this type of thing when I was her age, but it was about not looking like my bio dad. He's white and my mama is black. But this? What my baby girl went through is beyond what I had to endure."

"This was cruel and mean," Deborah added.

"Degrading and humiliating," Marley added. "We know you will get her through this."

Lena nodded. They knew she was Callie's bio mama and that Callie was a triplet.

"Thanks ladies," Lena said as they both left to see to other patients. Dana, Sharon and Raquel all but ran in.  Lena eyed all three as her tears slipped as Dana held her daughter in an embrace as Lena wept in the hallway.

"How is our girl?" Dana asked.

"She hasn't talked yet," Lena admitted in a sad tone. The three older ladies were sad to hear the news. "What happened?" Raquel asked.

"You need to see it to believe it. My mama was there and saw where they left her, but not before," Lena told them as Deborah came and got the three grandmother's and took them to a conference room as Lena gave the nurse the CD Rom and she took it and put it in the DVD player as it played.

All three older ladies, cried as they saw what those three teens put their granddaughter through and Dana turned it off. "Why?" Dana asked. "To a little girl? Our little girl?"

"Who are the girls?" Raquel asked.

"Bella Kirk was the main ring leader and the other two are twins Dora and Dory Cabot," Lena replied as she walked back in. "They haven't been found yet."

Stef and Robert found the four ladies. "How's Callie?" Robert asked as he had two happy meals and a My Little Pony duffel and her school backpack.

"She hasn't said a word. She's mute. She won't talk," Lena replied.

"What? How does she communicate?" Stef asked.

"Writes it out," Lena added. "Bella Kirk did this and forced those are two girls to help her."

Stef's cell rang and it was Armando. "Hey Armando. What's up?"

"We got Dora and Dory Cabot and they confessed that Bella forced them to do it."

"But it doesn't make it right," Stef added. "Bella Kirk?"

"In the wind and her Aunt will keep us apprised of her location," he added. "But we are on the lookout."

At the track, Bella Kirk was under the bleachers since it was used for storage and she was caught and she faced Captain Cynthia Roberts and was arrested by another police officer next to her.
