I'm Adopted?

"What's going on?" Jack asked. "Why did you two come here only to be with AJ?" Jack accused hurt as he wiped his tears as he saw Kennedy and Sean. He was one on fire five year old.

"I never knew about you till yesterday till AJ told me who you are," Sean replied. Jack eyed him confused. "I don't understand."

"And I didn't know about you either by choice," Kennedy replied. He wasn't one to sugar coat or lie. "I don't understand," Jack said on his mama's lap. "Why just AJ?" he asked hurt.

Sean was the levelheaded one. "Jack you are adopted. My brother and his wife adopted you since they wanted more kids after the twins were born and your mommy could not get pregnant again. So they adopted you," Sean replied. "I stopped seeing my brother and his wife when the twins were three. We got mad about brother stuff."

"I didn't come from mommy? But I saw the pictures."

"Those were of me and they both lied to you that it was you," AJ replied. "Which is why the pictures are in my room."

"You knew?" Jack asked. "And never told me? How could you lie?"

"I did. Everyone did," AJ replied. "But not mama or mommy. And I didn't lie."

"And you?" Jack asked Kennedy. "Is that why you never took me when you came for the twins?"

"Yes. No one agreed with your parents to adopt you," Kennedy replied. "I was the most vocal."

"Oh," Jack replied. "My whole life I was lied too. By everyone."

"So who are my parents?" Jack asked. "Why did they give me up?"

"Um we don't know," Kennedy replied. Jack sighed. He was hurt and upset as his tears came full force as he fled to his room and all you heard was a bang from the slammed door.

Stef sighed. "This was what I wanted to avoid."

"Does anyone know about Jack back home in your family?" Lena asked. 

"Just Jessica, but she never went over either," Kennedy replied. "She wanted Hailey to focus on the kids she did have."

"What now?" Lena asked.

"Give him time," Sean said. "He needs it."

"See you tonight buddy," Kennedy replied. AJ nodded.

"Really? You are still going out?" Stef asked. "While my son Jack is the way he is?"

"Hailey never should have lied to him," Kennedy replied. "We all begged them not to adopt him."

"Stef!" Lena warned. The blonde nodded and went to the backyard to cool off. Lena sighed as AJ looked defeated.

"I'm sorry mama," AJ replied. "But I can't give up on family. I can't limit myself."

Lena smiled. She didn't want her kids to limit themselves.

"That's selfish," Stef replied as she eyed a hurt AJ. It was in his eyes as he wiped his tears. But he was mad as hell. "Selfish? Me? The only two people selfish here are my parents by adopting a child and lying about it? That's selfish. They put Jack before me and Hallie. The only thing she got was an early grave and that is selfish."

"Jack is the way he is because they let him do whatever the hell he wanted. They took from us and gave to Jack."

"You are his big brother, act like it!"

"Stef!" Lena replied. The blonde sighed as she walked away.

In Jack's room, the moms both walked in. "Jack?"

"Hi," he said in a whisper. "I'm  adopted and I never knew and everyone else did?"

"They loved you!" Lena replied.
