Reality Bites

Brenda eyed her target and ran after Callie the next day after she saw her and went to catch up with her. "HEY!" Brenda screamed with rage as Callie saw her and blinked. The tone was cold and mean. Callie eyed the girl her granddaddy gave a ride home to her group home.

"Hi Brenda!" Callie replied. "How are you and did you like the stuff my mama and I sent to you and all the girls?" Callie asked.

"Leave my mama alone," Brenda replied. "I'm her only daughter."

"What? What are you talking about?" Callie eyed the girl confused.

"You heard me. She came to see me at Girls Power and wants to foster me. Get yourself your own mama," Brenda thundered.

"I have a mama. Why would I need yours?" Callie asked.

"You are always with her here and I saw you two yesterday at the beach. So there."

"I was with my mama at the beach yesterday," Callie replied.  "She's in her office. She teaches here."

"Who is your mama?" Callie asked.

"She's not my mama yet. She came to see me at Girls Power with lots of boxes of items for me and the girls."

"Oh," Callie said. In her heart, she knew what Brenda was thinking and Callie went to get her mama. "Don't move!"

The big twins went to get help as Callie eyed the older girl who was a lot taller than her and a lot older than her as well. 

The big twins rushed in and found her with Karina Sanchez talking. "MAMA!"

"Boys?" Lena asked.

"There's this big girl harassing Callie," they replied as both Karina and Lena ran out of Lena's office and toward the benches.

"Let me go," Callie cried as Brenda had a grip on Callie's arms as Jack came over.

"Leave my sister alone. Pick on someone your own size!"

"Shut it!" she replied as she pushed Jack as AJ and the rest of the boys were told as they ran toward Brenda, Callie and  Jack who was on the floor.

"JACK!" Callie cried as the five year old girl got free and helped him up as Brenda tripped the girl on purpose as Callie yelped in pain as her face connected with the pavement. "OWIE!"

"She's my mama. Not yours!" Brenda screamed as she ranted and raved.

Lena ran out toward the benches and saw a girl who looked older than AJ and sprinted for Callie and Jack. Both were crying as Lena ran over. Jack's wrist looked red and swollen and Callie had bloody knees and her wrist looked like Jack's and her face on one side was red. 

Lena ran over as Brenda smiled. "Here comes my mama now!"

"Is she demented?" Jack asked.

"Hurt and confused," Callie replied as Lena ran over and passed a confused Brenda who looked hurt, confused and torn. 

"BABY GIRL. JACK!" Lena cried out as she got to her knees and eyed Jack's right wrist and Callie's bloody knees and wrist as her heart broke and she got angry as she eyed Brenda.

"MAMA! IT HURTS!" Callie cried out.

"I know baby girl!" Lena cooed. 

"Mama?" Brenda asked Lena. Lena eyed her in shock and wondered if the girl was crazy. She ignored her and focused on her kids. Brenda was confused that Callie and the boy called Lena mama. She had no kids right?

"YEAH MAMA!" Jack replied. Lena nodded and with Karina's help, they took both kids to Lena's van. The other Adams Foster children came over and got Callie and Jack's backpacks as Lena sped off to get her baby girl and Jack  looked after.
