The week was a bad one, a man convicted of raping his granddaughter got off scotch free on a technicality since he wasn't read his rights properly and Stef glared at Mike since he was too blame, but the man was kicked out of the house that belongs to his son and daughter-in-law and not allowed to be near his granddaughter. If that wasn't bad enough, Stef has Jury Duty all week and could not get out of it and someone drank Stef's coffee. She was having a shit ass day.
"Stef," Mike added as she eyed her ex husband. She ignored him.
"What Mike?" she growled.
"I'm sorry," he replied.
"You are sorry? You really fucked up here Mike. How long have you been a cop? Huh?"
"It wasn't my fault," he added.
"You forgot to read him his rights and it's not your fault? Whose fault was it then?"
"I've been up with Ian and Isabella. I'm all they have."
"And whose fault is that? No one's," she added. "Who told you to have kids with a convict?"
He stayed quiet. "You screwed up Mike. And you need to take the responsibility."
"I can't talk with you like this," he replied as he walked away upset. But deep down, she was right and it was his fault as he went to his desk.
Captain Roberts came to see Mike. "I need to talk with you Mike."
Stef and Armando eyed him as he left. "I hope it's good."
"Good? It will be bad. The shit ass grandfather got off because Mike did not read him his rights."
In her office, "Internal Affairs is doing an investigation on the way you handled, Pablo Fernandez."
Mike sighed. "I made a mistake."
"You did a big one. But you need to tell them the truth."
Mike nodded. "You need to go see Dale Smith."
"Right now?"
"Yes and please be on time," she replied as he left her office and went to his desk and left.
"Where are you off to?" Armando asked.
"To see Dale Smith," he replied. "For a meeting. Stef can you pick up the twins?"
"I can't. I switched with Armando and I don't have my GMC right now. It's in the shop."
"Who is going to pick up the kids?"
"Dana in Lena's big van and take them to the library and later to our home."
"Can she pick them up?"
"Is she on your list?" Stef asked.
"No," he replied. "I will call Mitch."
Mike left and Armando eyed Stef. "You and Lena still can't help?"
"His twins are allergic to cats and we have cats and no extra rooms."
Armando nodded. "What if they can take medication?"
"Still no room. Jack and Callie are too old to have the twins in their rooms and Jack has Tommy in his room and Callie has the girls in hers."
He nodded. "You are right. I just feel bad for him."
"He brought it on himself."
"You are right," Armando replied.
At Internal Affairs, "You screwed up Mike," Dale Smith replied.
Mike bit his lip and nodded. "It was a mistake."
"A big one and you can't make anymore," Dale Smith told him. Mike sighed a huge sigh of relief and left after an hour. He closed his eyes and smiled wide. He made a mistake and he needed to get more training because of it and who will watch the twins?
