Lena Adams Foster picked up the call in her office on August 1st and it was early and she wasn't waiting on any calls. "Hello?" she asked after the third ring.

"Lena Elizabeth Adams Foster?" a male's voice was heard asking.

"Yes this is she. How can I help you?"

"I'm Benedict Rivers and a lawyer for Sean Hotchner. You and your wife adopted his only nephew Aaron James."

"Yes. What is this about?" she asked. She feared the worst that Sean wanted AJ in his life and they were prepared to fight him tooth and nail. He is their son, their oldest at sixteen and going to take the driver's test in a few weeks and as she thought that, she wondered where the time went. Is it really seven years with their oldest son as well as Jack?

"He is our son. We adopted him and Sean can't have him. It was a legal adoption."

"This is not about that and he is your son."

"What is this about then?" Lena asked. "I'm scared and worried."

"Sean Hotchner passed away a few nights ago. He was hit while driving his motorcycle. A car passed him up and didn't see Sean on his bike and collided with him and Sean died instantly."

"Oh My God," Lena added. "I need to let AJ know. When is the funeral service?"

"In a week from today," he replied. "In Mission Bay. He got a plot and will be buried across from his brother and sister-in-law."

"I will give you my cell phone and you can text me the details."

"Understood and I need to see AJ after the service?"

"Sure and where is your office?"

"In the Internal Affairs Bureau building. I got a building," Benedict Rivers added.

"Okay and what about Jack?"

"He is not mentioned. Sean never knew him and is not his nephew. This is only for AJ."

"Got it," Lena added. "Thank you for calling. I need to call my wife."

"Okay and see you in a week," he added as he ended the call and Lena took a few minutes and called her wife.

"Hi my love. What's wrong?" Stef asked.

"A lawyer by the name of Benedict Rivers called," Lena added. "It's about Sean Hotchner."

"I know Benedict. His office is in the Internal Affairs Building. What's wrong?"

"Sean is dead. He passed away a few nights ago and his funeral is a week from today," Lena added. "We need to tell AJ and Benedict wants to see him after the service."

"Just him and not Jack?" Stef asked.

"Yes just AJ and no Jack and you know why," Lena added.

"Yup. Both sides of the family never wanted Aaron and Hailey to adopt Jack and Sean never knew him and Kennedy never wanted to know him. Their loss, but I understand."

"We need to let AJ know," Lena replied. "When? I leave for the rest of the week with the triplets and the little twins up to Raging Hills Resort."

"Today at lunch?" Stef asked.

"Agreed," Lena added. "See you in an hour and I will go get AJ from the house."

Stef went to pick up lunch, while Lena went to get AJ from home and he was confused why she went to get him at home. "What's wrong mama?" AJ asked.

"We need to have a talk with you. Me and mom," Lena replied. He nodded.

In Lena's office, AJ was confused and curious, but also scared and worried as his mama drove to Anchor Beach and she parked and they walked to her office as his mind was filled with worry and what is going on. He felt bad and weird.
