Lena, Stef and Robert sat all of their sons down and they even included Tommy in this since he is staying with them. Papa Thomas, Nate and Timothy were there as well. Callie and the girls were with Dana and Stuart.
"So what's up?" the big twins asked.
"Yeah? And why is Callie not here?" AJ asked. "Is this about her? She was weird last week," he replied as all the boys nodded and remembered how their baby sister was and they were worried about her.
"This is about your baby sister," Lena added. "All girls get a period and since your sister is a girl she got her first period on Tuesday," Lena added. "And she um will bleed for a few days."
"GROSS!" Caleb added. "Blood? Did you send her away?"
"No. Why would we? A period is a natural part of being born a girl. Mommy and I get periods," Lena added which was the wrong thing to say.
"TRIPLE. GROSS!" Caleb replied. "EWW! You aren't sending her away? And you and mommy aren't going away?"
"No and why are you still asking that?" Lena asked hurt.
"In Africa. A girl has a period and they send her away and keep her away from all the males. It happens to all the girls and women In Africa."
"This is not Africa," Lena added. "We are in The United States."
"It's still gross," Caleb said.
"Caleb Leonard. I take offense at this and you are hurting my feelings," Lena replied. "Mommy and I were girls once."
"I'm sorry mama," he replied.
"So when you sister gets her second period don't make a big deal about it," Lena added.
"They aren't bad," Tommy added. "Tia's had a few so far."
"And when you three are older, your children if they are girls will get periods," Robert replied.
"I will send them all to Africa," Caleb added as Lena gave him a glare. "What?"
"This is not a time to joke," Lena added. He nodded. "We all go through things as a family and we need to stick by each other as a family."
"So Isabella will get them?" the big twins asked.
"Yes and Marie gets them too. The only time a woman doesn't get a period is when she's pregnant," Stef replied.
"But we need to help Callie through this and this is a new experience for her as a new woman and we are a family and need to stick together," Lena replied. "What family does."
"Thick and thin," Jack replied. Lena smiled and nodded.
"Then why did dad leave? And why did mommy leave Uncle Mike?" Caleb asked. Robert bit his lip as Caleb left up to his room and Stef was shocked too. Robert, Lena and Stef shared a look and gave the boy time. Caleb made some fair points and it hurt and stung.
"I will go talk with him," Robert replied. "He needs to hear this."
In Caleb and Callum's shared room, Robert knocked as a muffled reply was heard. Robert opened the door and walked in. "Hi Caleb," Robert added.
"Hi dad. I'm sorry."
"I know and let's go take a drive so we can talk?" he asked as Caleb nodded.
At the park and beach near Anchor Beach, Robert and Caleb eyed the sea of waves and Robert talked first. "I never should have left mama and at that time I only thought was how was I going to support her with no money."
"I guess, but mama was never about money," Caleb replied. Robert nodded.
"But not me and my mind I was the man and needed to support my wife and if I had known that the man was pretending to be granddaddy I never would have left her and when we found out it was too late."
