Distancing Themselves Never Works Out

"Why is Robert Sr. picking up the kids for Robert now?" Stef asked.

"They are short staffed at Robert's job and he can't leave the office alone and that's why my godfather is picking them up," Lena replied in a huge lie and since she never lies, her wife believed her.

"How long?" Stef asked.

"Until they hire someone," Lena said. "Plus I trust my godfather who is their granddaddy and used to be my father-in-law."

"Yeah fine," Stef replied. "Sorry I do trust him, but this was last minute. Took me by surprise."

"I understand," Lena said as she sighed to herself as she decided what to make for dinner.

"What should we make tonight?" Lena asked.

"How about a night out?" Stef asked.

"How is it we only go out to eat when the triplets aren't home?" Lena asked.

"Um thought it might be a good change," Stef said.

"Then why don't we do it when the big twins aren't here?" Lena asked.

"What are you saying?" Stef asked. "That I don't love them?"

"I never said that. I just don't want them to feel that they aren't loved since we only eat out when they aren't here."

"I guess I never saw it that way," Stef replied.

"Maybe we should start to eat out when the big twins aren't here," Lena replied. She was a tad bit off as Stef eyed her incredulous and went to her.

"What's going on?" Stef asked.

"I might be getting sick," Lena admitted. "Just tired," she lied. The truth is she is hurt that Robert is distancing himself after they made love for the second time as they were at it for hours when she went over to the mansion on January 2nd. Half the time she was on top.

She remembered the time as they both wept again and realized that they broke the promise that they each made to the other by not making love. But they could not help what the heart wants and they were still in love. Deeply in love and they were both hurting. But they ignored their hurt and focused on all the kids and Stef.

"Lena?" Stef asked as her curly haired wife jumped into her wife's arms and spoke in her ear.
"I need you!" Lena whispered as Stef smirked as they ran up to their master bedroom to have sex, while the triplets were at their dad's and the rest of the kids were on their different play dates.

At the mansion, "So what's going on?" Robert Sr. asked.

"I have tons of work dad," Robert Jr. lied.

"Robert Leonard Quinn!" his dad bellowed as the younger Robert sighed.

"I can't see Lena anymore. It hurts too much."

"What's happened?" his dad asked concerned.

"We almost made love dad," Robert lied. "She's married and we can't do this."

The triplets were in the backyard with their nana and nona as bubbles were being blown as the kids ran after them in glee as Robert saw from his bedroom window and smiled.

"That's because you two are still very much in love and never fell out of love."

"We can't destroy a family. I'm not going to be like your twin."

"What are you going to tell the triplets?" he asked.

"They haven't caught on yet," he replied. "I need a distraction."
