"Hi Kennedy how are you?" Lena asked of Hailey's father. "How is Virginia?"
"Good and I'm fine. How are you and how is Mission Bay?"
"I'm fine and Mission Bay is great. So are AJ and Jack."
"I was wondering if I can have AJ for the weekend?" he asked. "I'm in town."
"And not Jack?" Lena asked.
"I was never a grandfather to Jack since they adopted him against our wishes."
"How does he know you?" Lena asked.
"Hailey could have told him about me," he replied. "So can I see my only grandson?"
"Of course. I will let him know and my wife and just text or call if you want us to bring him to you or you can come over."
"Will do," he replied. "Will do," Lena replied as she ended the call. She never knew that Kennedy and his wife didn't have a relationship with Jack and that they never wanted him to be adopted. She sighed. Was it fair to not let AJ go? What about Jack? she wondered. Was it fair to keep AJ away from family?
"That is so crap! But we can't keep AJ from family. I feel bad for Jack though. But if they never had a relationship with him. I understand."
"This is so unfair Stef. For AJ and Jack," Lena replied. "What do we do?"
"Let AJ see his grandfather," Stef replied. "I don't want to be the bad guy. And let's call David."
David Rossi sighed over the phone. "All I know is that Kennedy only went to see the twins and not Jack."
"So how does Jack remember him?" Lena asked over the phone. "If they never spent time together?"
"Hailey always told him he was his grandfather," David replied. "I know. I know she lied."
"So they never had a relationship?" Lena asked.
"No never and I do understand why he blamed Aaron and Hailey for Hallie's death," he replied. "I loved those two, but adopting a kid when you barely had time for the two they already had?"
"Can you imagine if Hallie would have survived? Where would we have put her?" Lena asked.
"With Callie?" David said.
"Um no. Callie had bunk beds since she was four and neither AJ or Hallie liked them."
"I guess she was meant to die," David replied. "And on the AJ and Kennedy thing. You should let them see each other. He can't be denied family."
"Stef and I are, but Jack's feelings can't be ignored."
"They can't, but his adoptive parents did lie to him and what about AJ's feelings? He is their only grandson and the only heir."
"Heir?" Lena asked.
"Both sides of the family are leaving AJ with everything," David replied. "He is the only grandson by blood and Jessica can't have kids so if she adopts those kids won't get a dime."
"I understand," Lena replied. "He is coming in two weeks to Mission Bay to visit Aaron, Hailey and Hallie."
"Have you talked with AJ yet?" David asked.
"Not yet and it will be up to him," Lena replied. "Stef wants him to pick Jack, but I want him to pick for him."
"Agreed," David said. "AJ and Hallie lost a lot when Jack was born. Those two were so into Jack and they ignored the twins until someone spoke up."
"Who?" Lena asked.
"My wife. When she speaks you listen and after that they didn't know what they were doing and realized they were neglecting their own bio kids."
