Five Years Later: Baby Loves Debut

It is February 14 2036  and Lena and Robert's wedding anniversary as all their kids and their partners came over to celebrate. The last to arrive were Callie and Lexi as Lena hugged her baby girl and her daughter-in-law hard.

"Hi mama," Callie said.

"Hi Lena," Lexi said. 

"Hi my baby girl," Lena said. "Hi Lexi. Everyone is out back," Lena said in a sad way. She was hoping for some good news and Callie eyed her mama. 

"Hi daddy. Hi big brothers. What's up with mama?"

"Karina Sanchez is going to be a grandma," Robert replied. "She wants that too."

"Oh," Callie and Lexi added as they shared a look. They knew once they told their secret everyone would flip out excited, especially the would be grandparents and the would be great grandparents.

"Don't worry dad," the boys replied. "We will give you some grandchildren even if we have to adopt," the boys said.

"What about Callie and Lexi?" Dana asked. 

"If they have IVF," the boys added. "Sometimes it works on the first try and sometimes it doesn't."

"Your mama and daddy will be excited," Lexi replied.

"I know," Callie said. "I can just hear and see my mama."

"What are you two talking about?" Lena asked as she eyed both girls with a look. 

"Um work," Lexi said. "The training has been hard."

"I'd bet," Lena added. "I'm still Principal and I love it."

"Daddy told us about Karina's news mama," Callie said.

"I know and I'm happy for her," she added. The doorbell was heard and Dana, Stuart, Frank, Sharon, Raquel, Robert Sr., Nate and Timothy showed up to have a quiet dinner to honor the 7th marriage anniversary of Lena and Robert. Papa Thomas, Ruthie and Samson came an hour later.

"No wine baby doll?" Dana asked her only granddaughter.

"No thank you Grams," she replied. No one second guessed her since she hardly drinks and not even Lena or Robert.

Brandon and Matt gave them gift cards to their favorite coffee places, Bradley and Lou gave them a trip to Spain, Matthew and Emma gave them gift card to their favorite clothing shops, Max and Kelsey gave them a combined gift card to their favorite spa, Caleb and Wyatt gave them a trip on a Caribbean Cruise, Callum and Tia gave them gift cards to their favorite restaurant, AJ and Sarah gave them a trip to Italy, Jack and Darby gave them a trip to Africa and Callie and Lexi gave them a trip to France. The two parents loved their gifts.

The doorbell was heard and it was Armando and Micah as they were let in.

"And this is something extra," Callie said as she handed her mama a wrapped box. 

"Baby girl. You and Lexi already gave us a trip to France," Lena replied.

"Yeah," Robert said. 

"Well it is something you two wanted, especially you mama," Callie said. Lena eyed her.

"What's better than a trip?" the boys asked as Callie rolled her eyes at her brothers as she knew they were clueless at times. She wondered what Emma saw in Matthew and Kelsey saw in Max, but she was excited that two of her close friends were engaged with two of her brothers respectively as Emma and Kelsey eyed their husbands.

They nodded and both opened it together. It was a picture frame and inside it was an ultrasound with Callie's name as the patient.

"Oh baby girl!" Lena replied as she wept as Robert did too. They were going to be grandparents as they got up and hugged both Callie and Lexi and Callie again. The others were all confused and wondered what had happened.
