Minho's POV

After I saw that Tao was okay I decided to leave the hospital, I decided to walk and when I exited the hospital I bumped into someone.

"Ouch, look at where you're going can't you see sick people can get- Minho..."

I looked at her.

"Jessica" I said coldly but the hate I set my hate towards her aside when I saw her.

She was covered up with bruises and band aids, her arms, legs and I could even see some marks in her neck, I don't want to imagine how her entire body looks like. She panicked, turned around and started walking away hurriedly.

"Wait" I said and grabbed her hand, I dragged her to the rooftop and I released her there but of course I tried to be gentle because she was injured.

"Woah..." She said in a small voice looking at the view, and I'll agree with her this time, it was indeed beautiful.

"Now, you have to explain this" I said signaling to her injuries.

She sighed and rubbed her temples smiling bitterly.

"I guess there's no point on hiding it anymore, right?" She said without looking at me.

We sat down and I waited for her explanation.

After a while she finally spoke.

"We were a happy family, of course my parents traveled a lot because, as you know, I'm rich, but I still managed to see my mom more because sometimes she would decide to stay with me, she was always my source of inspiration. If I felt sad, she would comfort me and prepare hot chocolate for me and sing a lullaby until I fell asleep. We would go to the mall and play around and wore clothes just for fun and didn't even buy them in the end. We would play together in the playground and she was like another kid of my age, our home would never be without strawberry ice cream because she knew how much I loved it, she showed me the value of life and that true love exists, she taught me how to sing, her voice was beautiful... My father and her loved each other unconditionally" she said and her eyes turned glassy

I waited for her to continue, I knew it wasn't the end of it.

"Life seemed perfect for us, but it decided to be unfair. She died when I was ten years old, she had an advanced brain tumor and never told anyone so we wouldn't be worried all the time about her, she said she wanted to spend her last years happily and enjoy it with the ones she loved, I was the one who discovered her body lying in her bed... She left us a letter" by this moment she was already crying

I hugged her, I don't know why but I felt that she needed someone to be by her side right now.

Just when I thought that was everything she continued.

"My father and me became distant, the both of us were sorrowful because of her passing, he was never at home and I felt lonely but I still greeted my dad happily even though once in a while he appeared drunk. After a year of my mother's death he came home with another woman saying that they would marry each other by next week"

I just stayed there, hugging her.

"They got married and that woman, who seemed nice at first, became my worst nightmare. She hated me to death and even suggested they sent me to an orphanage so they could start a new family. Of course my dad refused because I was everything left from his late wife so my step-mother would always beat me up and say mean things to me but becomes all sweet when my father is present, she always avoids hitting my head because he would find out and now it doesn't even hurt that much, I come to the hospital once a month or two months to check if I have any serious damage, I don't have someone who loves me now... Even my step brother started to hate me because of her, my five-years old little brother hates his sister, the 'ugly witch'" she chuckled bitterly at the end
