the two entered the restaurant which seemed fairly packed , many customers gathering as the time ticked dinner time .
Family dinners and dates carrying on .
the two stood in the linear queue in front of the restaurant , waiting to be seated .
she looked upon the little kids running around the restaurant having fun .
The little girl running after the little boy who had taken her plushy .
" hey give it back ! "
" never ! "
a smile crept up her face , looking at the wholesome sight .
if only life was that simple . if only humans were better , if only people wouldn't lie to your face and hurt you .
kids having fun as though they were the only ones in the world , the carefree life they had lived full of innocence and purity .
hae eun : "sung , wasn't it nice ?"
jisung : "hm ?"
hae eun : "wasn't it nice being a carefree little kid ?"
jisung : "i've never really had a childhood."
the male answered , his face unchanging , yet deep inside he was feeling sorrowful , his heart clenching as the past memories rushed in like a tsunami .
• flashback •
"mommy , daddy !" the little boy shouted , smiling widely as he neared his parents .
"don't call me your dad , jisung ! you worthless piece of shit !" his father spoke , spitting on his face .
"jihyuck , stop complaining will you ?! stop wasting our money on stupid gambling and alcohol !" his mother shouted , grabbing onto her newspaper .
the little boy stood in-between his parents , tears streamed down his cheeks , staining his cheeks .
heart clenching cries sounded , whimpers escaped his little mouth but his parents gave zero empathy .
kneeling down the floor , holding his knees to his chest , hugging himself into a snowball .
his parents continued their argument completely ignoring the fact that their son was having a break down right in front of them .
They had never cared for him .
no one cared for him , he had no friends , no one liked him . even his own parents called him a disgrace .
his life was miserable , he was alone for his whole life , no one to depend on , no one to speak to , no one to be with .
People in school called him a freak , claiming that he was abnormal- weird .
he eventually belived friends weren't needed , all they'd do was to lie and betray . they'd act all nice in front you and stab you from the back .
he never got to have a childhood every kid around him had . he never got to watch cute little kid's cartoon shows , his parents never let him do anything , saying he's a waste of space and money , wishing he was never born .
he never had the chance to visit a playground , well that was until he ran away from home and stayed in a playground . he was homeless . helpless .
he had never experienced love from his parents , in fact , he never experienced love . he never believed in love .
how can you know something you had never felt ?
