When Shen Liang left, Pei Yuanxian and his group of three returned to the third floor of Luofengju. Xiao Muchen commented on what he saw from beginning to end as he waved his fan leisurely.

"Indeed," Chu Li sat down and appeared even depressed as he continued, "Neither of you interacted with him directly. Don't take it to heart that he didn't say much, what few words he did say striked where it hurt. He's filled with intentions and schemes."

"Are you dissatisfied with how he toyed with you?"

"Scram!"

Xiao Muchen's repeated ridicule finally coaxed a roar from Chi Li. The other two parties couldn't help but laugh at him.

"Third brother!" turning his head, Chu Li called out in a low voice. Pei Yuanxian and Mu Xiaochen not only didn't restrain their laughter but laughed even harder.

"But this Shen Liang really is quite intriguing," after satisfying his amusement, mischief toyed with his lips. An essence of deviousness flickered across his gaze. His curiosity on what Shen Liang intended to do next grew with each second that passed.

"Um...third brother...your smile...en...that..."

When was the last time Pei Yuanxian had smiled like this?

Chu Li couldn't help but shrink his neck. If he recalled correctly, wasn't it when he ruined and eradicated the entire Family of the last person who provoked him?

"Third brother, Shen Liang is Shen Da's younger brother," evidently, Xiao Muchen shared Chu Li's thoughts and was afraid of Pei Yuanxian erratic and destructive intentions. He was afraid he wasn't clear enough and reiterated superfluously, "Only younger brother from the same mother."

If he really had designs or intentions to target Shen Liang, even if he was the emperor's younger brother, he would have no qualms about it, much less his being Shen Da's younger brother. However, Pei Yuanxian decided to keep his interest in Shen Liang to himself as to prevent the other two from ruining his plans.

He didn't await Pei Yuanxian's inquiry before stating, "News had come from the palace that those who kidnapped the young master Duan Yu had committed suicide due to fear for what their punishment would entail."

Suicide?

Pei Yuanxian sneered with mockery and arched an eyebrow. That day after he ordered for the information to be conveyed to the Elder Princess, he had retreated into the shadows and played a passive role in the event to come. He simply retreated and watched how things would proceed. He didn't expect the other party's capabilities to be so influential. They were actually able to silence prisoners. 

"This matter does not concern us. No need to pay any more attention to it."

Tianquan responded in compliance and after paying his courtesy, proceeded to retreat. Pei Yuanxian then thought of something and said, "Find a way to deliver the news to Shen Liang. He should find it very intriguing."
