"Our young master is kind. Please be polite as well. Know your boundaries. If anyone rushes forward or cut in line, then the distribution of the steamed buns will also stop." Yaoguang sensed the crowd's impatience and agitation. He stepped forward and radiated a chilling air as a deep crack then split the ground before them. The originally chaotic scene immediately fell into silence. In order to get their hands on the steamed buns, the refugees had no choice but to follow his orders.

"Ah...."

"Waaaaa..."

The individuals in the crowds pushed and shoved against each other. They only had the steamed buns in their eyes. They couldn't wait to get their hands on one. A young man who was nothing more than skin and bones and carried an infant who couldn't be more than two years old was knocked to the ground. The infant immediately burst into tears and began crying but the surge of refugees never stopped in their steps. Seeing that the father son pair would be trampled alive, Shen Liang threw Lei Zhen a look. The latter immediately flew over.

"Dabao. Dabao... don't cry..." Even with Lei Zhen's intervention, the man who had fell to the ground did not have to luxury to care for his own injuries. With trembling hands, he untied the cloth the was wrapped and had the child tied to him as his tears fell down. Such a scene occurred everyday, everywhere. Children died from starvation and illness everyday. The civilians had already grown accustomed towards death and such a scene could not stir any compassion within them anymore.

"Crying will not solve anything. See if the child is hurt anywhere first." No one knew when a small path was made as the crowd spontaneously made way for Shen Liang to walk over. He bent down and held the child's dirty and thin hand before continuing, "This child has a fever and chills. See if he is hurt anywhere. Lei Zhen, go and ask if the monks in the temple have any medicine for fevers. Have them give a bowl. We'll pay for the fees."

"But..." Lei Zhen looked at him with hesitation. It wasn't convenient for their people to show their presence. If the crowd around them become irrational again...

"It's alright. Go now," Shen Liang raised his head and looked at the crowd that had quieted down. He revealed a light smile. The civilians were all simple and kind in nature. As long as they didn't suppress and oppress them, they would not make it hard for Shen Liang.

"En," Lei Zhen had no choice but fly over. He stepped gently upon the shoulders of the civilians he could borrow and soon made way over to the monk guarding the entrance of the temple.

"Thank you, thank you.... thank you so much..." he didn't expect that Shen Liang would actually help treat his child's illness. The man gathered the child into his arms and kneeled on the ground before Shen Liang to kowtow. Shen Liang did not disdain his dirty attire. He reached over to help the man to his feet before saying with a gentle chuckle, "Stand up. Let's head over to wait first."

"Yes. Yes..." the man nodded vehemently with tears in his eyes. Ever since he had lost his family and home, Shen Liang was the first person who extended a helping hand towards the two of them since. It was the first sensation of warmth the man had felt since the disaster and he could not suppress his tears.

When Shen Liang had led the man and his child over to the carriage's side, he then took out a water bag and handed it over to him with two big steamed buns. He settled the man beside the carriage and stated: "Eat something first. If you don't fill your stomach first, how will you take care of your sick child?"

"Thank you... thank you..." the man sitting on the ground help the water bag in one hand and the steamed buns in the other. He couldn't voice anything but his gratitude, accompanied by his tears.

"Dad, Daddy... eat... hungry...." the child that had been placed on his lap stopped crying the moment he saw the steamed buns. Teardrops were still hanging on the fringes of his lashes but his small mouth called out his hunger. The man hurriedly ripped off a small piece of the steamed bun to feed the boy which the child wolfed down. Afraid that the child would choke from his impatience, the man then had the boy drink some water. He carefully fed the child pieces of the steamed bun. When Shen Liang saw this scene, he couldn't help but reach over to pat the boy's messy hair. Perhaps because of the child he raised at home, but Shen Liang couldn't help but be more sensitive towards children.
