'Last day of being a teen, what shall I do today?' I think to myself in the hut. Everyone else is still asleep. Shall I go for a walk? a swim? a sit down on the beach?
No. Im going to practise with my mother bow this morning, I haven't used it in a while since Neytiri taught me. I grab the bow and make my way to the training ground to practise. I summon toruk and he flies to the training ground. If i'm going to practise, i'm going to practise properly.
I start off spending the first hour or two just doing simple target practise on the dummies. I ace that and by the end of the hour imitating it every time perfectly.
I spend the next few hours practising my skills. I practise climbing up trees just like the Sully's do and practise my shooting while moving. I leap form rock to rock and tree to tree while shooting at the dummies and after about another hour I am perfecting it.
Next I need to practise how to shoot while riding. I spend roughly an hour per animal I practise on, first I do my ilu and shoot at the dummies as we dive in and out the water. Its tricky but I get there in the end. Next is the ikran, I use Neteyams and start to fly. I get the Ikran to fly in circle round the dummies while I shoot at it and then do some twirls and I shoot upside down and then finally I practise with Toruk. I climb onto him and he starts to fly up. This is the hardest because he is so big I need to hold on but also shoot at the same time while he's moving, I end up linking my arm round his harness I use to hold on normally and this leaves my hands free to shoot, after a while I pretty much get this down too.
We land back on the ground and I feel exhausted. I collect all my arrows and start walking back to the hut.
Im walking along the beach and I see Neteyam on his own.
*Neteyam POV*
We all meet up on the beach this morning just like we agreed.
"Y/n left this morning with her bow to go train at the training ground so that gives us a few hours to prepare for tomorrow" Tsireya says.
"Me and Kiri will search for and organise the arrangements of flowers and shells to decorate the beach for the party and the ones for you Neteyam" she says excitedly.
After the party tomorrow afternoon, as it gets dark, Tsireya is going to suggest for y/n to go to the spirit tree to see her parents since its her birthday. Y/n will arrive at the spirit tree to which I will be there waiting and I will take her to that secret beach I found back when we first arrived. Im going to set up a picnic like date for me and y/n and spend the night together under that stars, a proper date, the picnic will have all her favourite foods and I really hope she will like it. Tsireya thinks she will . The others agreed too. I'm going to give her my gift too which is a necklace to match her shell one I made her but it drops lower and is a blue coloured pearl to match the shells. Ive spend all week searching the seabed for a pearl perfect enough for her.
"Aonung and Rotxo you guys go round and spread the word to the clan about tomorrow so they all know" Tsireya continues.
"Lo'ak you watch the south side of the beach incase she comes back and comes from that way, Neteyam you watch the north side incase she comes that way" She finishes.
"Everyone know what they're doing?" she questions.
We all nod and get to what we need to be doing. Once everything is sorted i'll head to the spirit tree beach with all the stuff and set some of it up ready for tomorrow.
After a few hours I hear footsteps through the trees and see y/n coming.
"Hey! What you doing?" she asks me.
"Just chilling, what about you?" I respond.
"Ive been training but i'm heading back to the hut now, then going to look for the others" she responds.
Shit.
"Well i'm really bored, can you show me what you've learned?" I say quickly.
"Im kind of tired" she responds.
"For me" I say sweetly and hold her hands.
"Fine" she says and we walk back to the training ground.
I manage to distract her for another hour or two before she will not take no for an answer about going back.
"Okay can we take the long way round? I love our walks" I ask.
"Sure" she says and I grab her hand and we walk all the way round the back of the island away from where the others are.
We get the the south end of the beach and I see Lo'ak. He clocks us and runs up to y/n. He picks her up and spins her round making her giggle.
"Bro, where have you been? I've missed you today" he says.
"Ive been practising with my mothers bow" she says.
"Cool, want hang?" he asks.
"Sure, i'll just take this back and then i'll meet you back here" she says.
"Ill take it for you, i'm heading that way anyway" I offer.
"Thanks Neteyam" she says and passes me the bow. They walk away and I take a deep breathe. That was close.
I walk to the hut where Kiri and Tsireya are making the flower and shell arrangements and place y/n's bow in the hut.
"Your flowers are over there Neteyam" Kiri says and points to the flowers they have organised into hearts.
"They're awesome you guys, thanks, i'm going to go set them up now ready" I exclaim.
I grab a seaweed blanket and put the flower arrangements into a basket to take them over in.
I call my ikran and fly over there because I don't want to risk ruining the flowers.
We land and I find the perfect spot on the beach with the best view of the sky, the beach and the spirit tree. I place the blanket down and then place the heart shaped arranged flowers round the blanket. I collect some shiny shells from round me and sprinkle them on the blanket to make it look pretty for her.
Tomorrow when I leave at the end of the party to come her before y/n i'll bring the food and gift then.
It's getting dark so I get onto my ikran and ride back to the island.
This is going to be perfect.
*Y/N POV*
Me and Lo'ak spend the rest of the day causing mischief and playing silly games to beat each other at.
Once it gets dark we walk back to the huts and I walk inside after saying bye to Lo'ak, Tsireya and Nuwani are already asleep and everyone else has gone home. I've barely seen anyone today! How annoying.
I lay down and go to sleep.
