I stir awake and look round. Im surrounded by clouds above and see Toruk at my side. Then I remember the argument yesterday and I instantly feel disappointed. I'm going to go for a fly today, i'm going to spend the day on my own and not worry about others people except myself for once.
"Ready to go for a ride boy?" I ask Toruk as I connect my tsaheylu and climb on him. He skwarks then we lift up and fly through the sky further away from home. We fly through the sky and the wind is flowing through my hair and I feel free, relaxed, at peace. I start to land Toruk when I see my birth island and we ground. I hop off and stoke his snout before going off and exploring.
*Neteyam POV*
I wake up and feel instantly worried when I roll over and see y/n didn't come home last night. Shit.
I walk out the hut and go straight to her family hut to see if she stayed there for the night. I peek round the entrance and see Tsireya sitting there with Kiri.
"Hello brother are you okay?" Kiri asks.
"Erm yeah, did y/n stay here last night?" I ask Tsireya.
"No she didn't, why?" she asks suspiciously.
"She didn't come home" I say disappointedly.
"Why wouldn't she come home?" Kiri says.
"We got into an argument" I say looking down.
"Skxawnd" Kiri rolls her eyes and gets up.
"Come on lets find her" Kiri says walking past me and Tsireya follows. We walk to the beach and stop after a few minutes fo walking.
"So, think, where could she be?" Tsireya says.
"Erm..." I think then my thoughts are interrupted by Lo'ak.
"Yoooo" he shouts and runs over to us and he is followed by Aonung and Rotxo.
"Carry on" Tsireya says.
"What we carrying on?" Lo'ak asks nosily.
I look at Tsireya and Kiri with wide eyes begging them to not say. Kiri smirks. Oh shit. Shes been finding a way to get back at me since I told mother and father about her and Rotxo's secret dates.
"Neteyam upset y/n and she's run away" Kiri says to everyone.
"You what?" Aonung says angrily.
"You skxawnd! What did you do that for?!" Lo'ak says nudging me.
"Guys we need to find her, focus" Tsireya says.
"Right, where could she be?" Lo'ak focuses.
"The cave?" I suggest.
"Good idea" Tsireya says and we all call our ilus and ride to the cave. We get there and climb off our ilus and walk into the cave. It is empty but there's footprints in the sand and Toruk is missing.
"Toruk is gone" Aonung says.
"Y/n is gone" Lo'ak says side eyeing me.
"Where else could she be?" Kiri asks.
"Three brother rocks?" Rotxo suggests.
"Maybe, lets check" I say and we all call and climb onto our ilus again and make our way to three brother rocks. We race to the rocks and when we get there we see nothing and no sign shes been here.
"I can't even call Payakan and ask him now he's found a new pod" Lo'ak says.
"Think hard, where else could she be?" Tsireya says.
"Her birth island! Why did we not think of this first!" Lo'ak shouts and we all gasp.
"She's got to be there, if she's not, I don't know what we will do" Tsireya says slowly.
It takes us a while to ride to the island by ilu. We eventually get there and jump off our ilus when we get to the shore.
"Right Neteyam and Tsireya check the huts, Kiri and Rotxo check the trees and me and Aonung will check the beach" Lo'ak suggests and we all nod and make our way round. Me and Tsireya walk towards the huts in silence.
"What happened then?" she asks.
I sigh and look down "I saw her sitting on the beach with Rowari, they were hugging, holding hands, I got jealous I guess. I wrongfully accused y/n and she explained it was nothing and she got upset and left"
"Oh Neteyam, you know y/n, she's your mate and your mate only, she is having your baby. She would never do that to you, she even died for you, she killed someone for you" Tsireya says.
"I know, I wasn't thinking" I say.
"When we find her, and I say when we do because we will, you need to speak to her, privately" Tsireya says.
I nod and we start to check each hut one by one.
"Guys!" we hear shouting and run out the hut we are currently in, we run to the shouting and Lo'ak and Aonung found Toruk.
"She must be here!" Kiri says and we all run back off to continue searching.
Me and Tsireya get through almost all the huts and start to lose hope. Then we get to the fourth last hut and walk in and see y/n asleep on the floor. I put my fingers to my lips and tell Tsireya to be quiet. I walk over and lift y/n up bridal style and we walk back to the beach and Tsireya runs to get the others. They all come running to the ilus and sigh in relief at the sight of y/n. We all get on our ilus and I get on mine and hold y/n and the others dive under while I stay on the surface and ride back carefully.
I get back after the others and I slide off my ilu and walk to the hut with y/n in my arms still. I get into the hut and place her down gently and she stays asleep. I lay next to her and face her. I move the hair from her face and say " I love you so much, I didn't mean to doubt you" and kiss her head before going to sleep.
