Face Swap

Halu guys! Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of updates this week since:
1. I'm busy working on the next 3 chapters of "Airplanes and Shooting Stars";
2. Super busy at work;
3. I'm sick at the moment

But I love you guys so I tried to write a story to tide you over until I finish item #1.

*Facetime Call*
M: Hello, babe?
R: *smiles* Hi babe. Nakita ko yung snap mo a few minutes ago. So I assumed na gising ka pa.

M: Of course, hinihintay ko nga yung tawag mo e. Kaya ayun, nag-update muna ako sa Snapchat.
R: Sweet talaga ng bibi ko. Maiba nga pala ako. May hidden message na naman dun ano?

M: The snap at 2:49am? *smiles teasingly* Sige nga, if it was a hidden message, what could it mean?

Rj thought for a few minutes the gave his first guess
R: "Hi Babe" yung 2 at 4... yung 9? "Goodnight"?
M: *smiles* Nope.

R: Teka, mali lahat? Or me mali lang na part?
M: Tama yung 2 and 4.
R: Tagalog or English?
M: English. Come on, Rj, think! Alam mong iba ako mag-isip at gumawa ng message. *wink*

For the life of him, Rj couldn't think of another nine-letter word that didn't sound stupid when put together with "Hi Babe"
R: Sirit na! Wala na akong ibang maisip e!
M: *laughs* Ay, may penalty pag hindi nahulaan!

R: *pouts* Grabe sya, miss na miss na nga kita, me penalty pa dahil hindi ko nahulaan. Sige na, wala nang penalty at sirit na, plith, plith?
M: *rolls eyes* Okay, fine! The full message is *clears throat* "Hi Babe, ILoveYou!" Kasama yung exclamation point kaya 9, ganoin!

Rj guffawed at the full message
R: Ang daya naman! Three words yun saka exclamation point! Sino makakahula nun?
M: Nagtanong ka ba kung one word lang yung "9"? Hindi naman ah! Wag kasi mag-assume! Saka para mas mysterious at hindi madaling hulaan! Grabe kaya mag-SOCO ang ADN!

Rj turned serious at Maine's words
R: Hindi naman tayo nagtatago di ba? Sobrang proud ko kaya na girlfriend kita. At sana...
M: *puzzled* Sana?
R: Sana maging nanay ng mga magiging anak ko.

She tried to sound nonchalant while in her mind, she was screaming "Waaaah! Kilig naman ang lola nyo!"

M: Sus! Yun lang? Maliit na bagay. Actually, ready na ako at this moment. This moment lang talaga ha. Dali!!! Punta na dito, the offer expires in 24 hours!
R: Grabe sya! Ang lakas mo talagang manghamon pag alam mo na hindi ako makakagawa ng paraan.

M: Ikaw di ba nagsabi na "kung gusto, may paraan". O dali, punta na dito, now na.

Rj looks at her keenly and with fire in his eyes
R: Wag ako, Meng, wag ako. Uuwi talaga ako, kahit hindi na ako makapagshow dito.

Maine knew then that she got caught in her own game
M: *gulps* Um, ikaw naman, kawawa yung mga fans! Saka may 5-year plan pa tayo, remember? Lagot ka kay Dodong, sige ka!

Rj just shakes his head and stares at Maine
R: Kaya nga, wag mo akong hamunin kasi hinding-hindi kita uurungan. Lalo na at alam mo na ready na ako. Ikaw na lang ang hinihintay ko na maging handa.

Maine tries to divert the topic to something she's more comfortable with
M: So... (thinks of a topic) nakita mo ba yung Face Swap na ginawa ko kanina sa Snappy?
R: Alam ko kung anong ginagawa mo pero sige, okay lang sa akin... FOR NOW. And yes, nakita ko yung SC post mo.

Rj smiles once more and teases her.
R: Hindi naman obvious na miss mo ako, noh?
M: *smirks* Wala lang akong ibang mapaglaruan that time! Kung nandun si Ate Pat e di sana kami nag-face swap. At saka!

R: At saka?
M: Ikaw kaya naunang umamin kanina na miss na miss mo ako kaya wala kang kawala, hmph!

R: Mapipikon na yan! Mapipikon na yan!
M: *raises eyebrow* Ah, meron yatang gusto na mag-shorts and hanging t-shirt ako bukas sa KalyeSerye, e.

She looks unaffected as she continues
M: Madali lang naman akong kausap, madami naman akong damit na ganon dito sa bahay. Saka mainit din naman talaga bukas so bagay na bagay yun, di ba?
R: Sabi ko nga na ako yung unang nagsabi ng miss na miss kita. Halatang-halata naman na miss kita, di ba? *paawa effect*

They both laughed at their silly antics
R: Pero babe, I really do miss you. Kaya natuwa ako dun sa face swap na ginawa mo. Parang nakikita ko na tuloy yung pwedeng maging features ng anak natin.
M: Ayan ka na naman sa anak ha! Magtatampo na naman ako sa iyo!

R: Sige nga, wala ka bang nakitang picture dun na gusto mo yung pagkakaswap sa atin? Ako may isang gustong-gusto.
M: *intrigued* Anong pic?

Rj grabs his other phone, scrolls through the pictures and shows it to her once he found it.
R: Eto o.

M: *laughs* Are you serious?

Rj turns the phone back to his face
R: Oo naman! Ang ganda kaya! Anak natin na babae, kasinghugis ng mukha mo tapos kamukha ko. Tapos ang pangalan, Charmaine. Combination ng name natin.

M: Oooookay. Hindi mo naman sya napag-isipan masyado. Pero saka na lang natin pag-usapan ulit ha? Hanggang M&Ms pa nga lang tayo, parang resulta na ng Pringles agad yung gusto mo.

It was now Rj's turn to be puzzled
R: Pringles? Bakit?
M: Pringles - because once you "pop", you can't stop. *wink*

Rj couldn't help but laugh at his bibi's wittiness
R: Benta sa akin yun ha. Favorite ko na dati yun, mukhang mas lalong magiging favorite ko pa sya lalo ngayon *kilay moves*
M: *blushes* Ah, hehehe, okay, basta sabi ko naman sa iyo, magaling akong mag-joke di ba, di ba?

R: Oo na, magaling ka sa lahat ng bagay. Kaya nga pati ako na-in love sa iyo.
M: Bolero ka talaga. *smiles* Pero ikaw ang tipo kong bolero.

Maine yawns and Rj sees it
R: Babe, matulog ka na. May Ad Summit ka pa bukas. I'll call you first thing in the morning.
M: *yawns* Okay babe. Pero don't drop the call. Just wait until I fall asleep, okay? And kiss muna.

Rj and Meng kissed each other over their phones, then Maine started to fall asleep.
R: Good night, babe. I'll see you soon.
M: *mumbles* G'night, babe.

Rj stared at Maine's face until he fell asleep as well, carrying her beautiful face into his dreams as he had a peek into the future.  A future filled with love and laughter. A future with Maine as his wife, together with their daughter, Charmaine Mendoza Faulkerson.

A dream future that he prays will soon turn into a reality.
