Hi guys! Whew! Busy day at work (as usual) so I didn't manage to write a new one until tonight.

For those waiting for the new book, I now have a full outline, yey (can't help it, project managers love to plan 😉)! Hopefully I can manage to put up the first two chapters in 2-3 weeks' time. My goal is to post a chapter at least once or twice a week. Wish me luck!

Maine's condo, morning of the 19th

"Aaargh! Ang sakit!!! Pwedeng tama na muna?" Maine moaned into her pillow.

After a few minutes, the pain subsided and Maine could lean up on her elbows from her prone position.

"I guess I better tell Rj na hindi talaga ako makakapasok today," she thought. They talked earlier this morning (she was usually Rj's final daily morning alarm) and she really thought she could manage the pain.

To: Babe
Won't be able to go to work. Akala ko kaya ko but it's getting to be a real pain. Ha ha, ang corny ko.

As soon as Rj read her message, he got worried. He just finished his workout and was on his way to Eat Bulaga. Now he's considering if he should drop by her place first and bring her anything she might need or want.

From: Babe
Do you need anything? Ibuprofen, hot water bag, comfort food, anything? Me?

To: Babe
Talagang siningit yung "Me" 😜. Nah, I'm good. This happens every month di ba? Papanoorin kita mamaya. Galingan mo yung acting mo!

From: Babe
Alam mo babe, sabi nila may surefire na solution daw sa dysmenorrhea - hindi mo na kailangan uminom ng gamot, all-natural sya na solution sya.

To:Babe
Wow, doktor ka na rin pala? O sige, I'll bite. Ano yang all-natural na solution na yan?

From: Babe
All-natural solution daw e yung madalas na, ano. Alam mo na yun!

Maine blushed at what he sent.
"Para-paraan ka talaga, Rj!"

To: Babe
Che! Style mo! Para-paraan ka talaga!

Rj laughed at her message.
"Ako pa pala ha. Jumping to conclusions kasi!"

From: Babe
Bakit? Ano ba yung naiisip mo? 😜 Exercise kaya ang solution! Yoga daw para mabawasan daw yung sakit.

To: Babe
Ahh... yun nga ibig ko sabihin! Basta! Alam mo naman ayaw ko mag-exercise, style mo! Wag mo na nga ako i-message, kulit mo! Bukas na lang ulit!

"Whew! Buti na lang lusot yung excuse ko!" Maine thought.

From: Babe
Mahihirapan yata ako. Kasi... mami-mith kita nang husto. Kulang ang araw ko pag hindi kita  nakikita 😔

To: Babe
🙄 Akala ko tao ka? Mali pala ako! Hindi ka tao - keso ka, keso 🧀!!! 😂

On the next stoplight, Rj read her reply. He laughed out loud at what he saw.

Mama Ten looked at him quizzically but knew who caused Rj to laugh out loud.
"Ang saya-saya na talaga ng alaga ko! Kaya talagang mahal namin lahat si Menggay. Suwerte talaga sila sa isa't isa," she thought.

Grabe sya, hurt ako. Pero sige, tanggap ko na keso ako, yung blue cheese.

"Blue cheese? Bakit kaya? Kasi mahal? Imposible naman na mabantot? Kasi super bango ni Rj," Maine thought to herself.

To: Babe
Blue cheese? Kasi mahal? O sige na, love na kita! Stop it na, cheese?

Rj smiled at her response. He typed away his response on the next intersection.

From: Babe
Blue cheese - kasi, I want to grow mold with you. ✌️ Sige po, titigil na po ako sa pagka-cheesy! Pahinga ka na dyan. Dadaan ako dyan pagkatapos ng mga sched ko today.
I'm only One Call Away if you need me - last na talaga yan na cheesiness, promise!

Maine laughed when she saw his answer. Truth be told, she loved his jokes, corny as they may be. After all, she's the queen of corny jokes as well. The fact that she found someone who matches her level of corniness is another proof of how compatible they really are.

To: Babe
Sige na, punta ka na sa Broadway kasi kahit mga jokes mo may amag na! 😂
Kidding aside, make sure na pupunta ka mamaya! Magtatampo ako kung hindi!

From: Babe
Ako pa ba? Kung sa Boracay nga sinundan kita, sa inyo pa kaya? Basta, kahit saglit lang, bibisitahin kita. And babe?

Maine rolled her eyes at the last part.
"If ito hihirit na naman ng pick-up line or joke, may palo talaga sa akin ito mamaya."

To: Babe
Ano po yun? Bawal na ang cheesy at corny ha? Pang-snacks lang yun, hindi breakfast! 😂

And babe... I love you, always. No joke. 😘

Maine is starting to feel the cramps once again but his tweet made her smile.

To: Babe
I love you, too. Always. Ingat lagi 😘

And as Maine lay on her bed pressing the hot water bottle on her tummy, she suddenly can't wait for the hours to pass until her blue cheese finally arrives - ready to share his cheesy and corny brand of love with her.
