Empire State of Mind

Hi! This story has been teasing my mind the entire day while I was busy at work.

Now, instead of resting or working on the update for "Airplanes and Shooting Stars", I find myself writing this short One Shot inspired by Rj's shirts and Ms. Nora Calderon's article.

Before Eat Bulaga, at Broadway Centrum

*psst, psst!*

  Maine was busy talking to Ate Pat and Direk Moty at "Alden's Lungga" when they heard the sound. At first they ignored it; they assumed that if they were the ones being called, their names would have been mentioned.

  However, as the frequency of the calls increased, they got irritated and turned to shush whoever that person was.

  Direk Moty laughed upon seeing who was causing the disturbance.
DM: Pansinin mo na nga yan, Meng! Kawawa naman, baka tuyo na laway nyan!
M: Sino ba--- Rj! Ano ka ba? Bakit sutsot ka nang sutsot dyan?

  Rj didn't answer. He just motioned for Maine to go into the host's room.
DP: Sige na, puntahan mo na yan. Di ka titigilan nyan - baka mamaya mainis ka pa, mahalata sa KalyeSerye. Ang gagaling kaya ng mga nanonood, halata nila pag may tampuhan kayo!
M: *rolls her eyes* Naku, sige na nga Ate Pat! Pag ito hindi tumigil sa pang-iinis, naku!!!
DP: Balik ka pagkatapos ng 15 minutes ha?

  Maine walked towards the hosts room, muttering under her breath.
M: Ano na naman kaya ang paandar nitong si Richard?

  As soon as she reached the host's room, Rj's hand reached out and pulled her into the room.
M: Rj, ano --- oomph!

  Rj kissed her as if he was dying of thirst and she was a cool glass of water. He kissed her like a man who couldn't breathe and she was a breath of fresh air. Maine couldn't help but respond.

  After a few minutes, they separated and their harsh breathing was the only sound in the room.
M: *breathless* Grabe sya! What was that for?
R: Happy 35th weeksary, babe! Kanina pa kita gustong i-kiss, pagdating mo pa lang sa studio. Hindi na yata sapat yung beso!

  Maine hugged Rj tightly and rubbed his back.
M: Poor bibi, kiss-deprived ka pa rin? Bawi tayo mamaya; after all, 18 bukas di ba?
R: Ngayon, mamaya, kahit anong oras pa, parang laging kulang yung kiss. Nag-iipon din kasi ako ng mga kiss mo kasi malapit na ako magpunta ng Canada, ilang araw din akong walang kiss.

  Maine leaned back and slid her hands from Rj's back to his chest.
M: Mami-miss din kita. Bibiruin na naman ako for sure ni Coleen kasi magda-drama na naman ako habang nasa New York kami.
R: Oo, ako lang isipin mo ha, bawal makipagkita sa mga taong hindi dapat makita.

  Her eyes widened at his jealous tone.
M: (pinches his "burger") Ano na naman yan! Kaibigan ko lang yun! Never naging kami, noh! Girlfriend mo na nga ako, nagseselos ka pa rin?
R: *pouts* Kasi, hindi kita agad mapupuntahan, samantalang sya, within the vicinity lang.

  Maine laughed at his silly face.
M: Wag ka nang mag-alala, noh! Ikaw lang ang pangit na mukha na gusto kong i-kith! (quick kiss)
R: Promise yan ha? May "eyes and ears" kaya ako dun.

M: *raises her eyebrow* Sino? Si Kuya? Si Dean? Grabe kayo, ako yung kapatid, mas kampi pa sayo yung mga yun!
R: Si Daddy din kaya! Kasi mga lalaki, dapat nagdadamayan at nagtutulungan! Alam din nila nararamdaman ko.

M: *laughs* Wow, daddy talaga ha. Ako nga Tatay ang tawag, ikaw Daddy? Pero sige, erase erase erase, oo na, ikaw lang ang iki-kith ko, pwamis!
