She stared at him. "Of course. You are an angel. I've found that out myself."

The man sighed deeply. "I'm not an angel."

"What are you then?"

He hesitated for a moment. "I am an Oni. A demon." The nurse laughed. "What's so funny?", Yoshiro asked.

"You should see your face when you say that." Midori grimaced and mimicked Yoshiro's deep voice: "I am an Oni. A demon."

"Very funny."

She waved. "Even if. Then you are a good demon."

"There are no good Oni."

"There are good and bad people. Why shouldn't there be good and bad Oni? Or are you fighting angels? Are you trying to destroy the world?"

The teleporter looked down. "No."

"Can you see it? It's not that absurd. You are a good Oni."

He shook his head. "You have no idea."

"How could I? You tell me nothing about yourself.", complained Midori.

Yoshiro glanced at her for a moment, pondering. "I have killed dozens of people."

The black-haired swallowed empty and blinked at him nervously. "You certainly had your reasons."

"They wanted me dead."

"Then they have messed with the wrong man."

Yoshiro wondered over his hostess. "It doesn't bother you that I killed people?"

"Of course I can't pin a medal to your chest, but if someone wants to kill you and you defend yourself, how can I blame you?"

"You're serious, right?"

"Yes. However, as a punishment you will get no dessert.", grinned Midori.

"Okay. Next: When an Oni kills another person, he captures the soul until another human kills this Oni."

Blankly, she looked at his face. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"I carry all the souls of those killed men and women in me. They give me strength."

"Hm. Can't you set the souls free?"

"Only if a human kills me the souls come free."

Midori bit her lower lip. "And if an Oni would kill you?"

"Then he would take all of my souls."

The nurse thought about these words. She reached for her tea and emptied her cup. She combined her new knowledge with the things she already knew, or thought she knew.

"The beasts ... Are they Oni too?", she asked gently.

"Yes."

"Then ...?"

He nodded. "I have the souls of your parents in my posession."

She looked at him uneasily. "You had no choice. You had to kill the beasts. Otherwise I would be dead. And maybe even more people."

"I was the one who had driven the beasts into the direction of your campsite. I chased the beasts through the whole forest. I am to blame for the death of your parents."

The black-haired woman swallowed empty. "That ... I can't believe that."

"It's the truth. Your parents died because of me. I'm no angel, or hero. I am a true monster. I kill without hesitation if it is necessary."
