"..."

Upon performing the Sound of the Five Sacred Beasts Ming Yue Yao's body begins to darken as she returns back into the form of a dark moon. The figures of the five sacred beasts that she had summoned also starts to fade away.

Descending from his Dao road that has already started to vanish Ye Gui Feng's left eye gives off a white radiance that causes the dark moon to be absorbed back into it.

Upon fully absorbing the dark moon Ye Gui Feng stands in the air to get used to its presence inside of his body once more as he keeps his eyes closed.

"..."

A brief moment later Ye Gui Feng reopens his eyes to give off a radiance of moonlight and gold.

The figure of Bai Yuechu appears in front of Ye Gui Feng's side with the white zither floating by his side.

"I trust that you do not have any disagreements with me obtaining this labyrinth's legacy?"

Bai Yuechu smiles lightly and shakes his head.

"Since the first half of my master's legacy had fallen into your hands prior to you coming here then you are naturally destined to possess the second half as well."

Waving a hand Bai Yuechu has the white zither float towards Ye Gui Feng.

"My master's main Authority had been her Authority of the Dark Moon. Her sub Authorities include the five elements and the Authority of Melodious Sound. This white zither's name is Qīdào Huíyīn (七道回音 Translation: Seven Echoes)."

Pressing a hand onto the five strings of the instrument Ye Gui Feng momentarily frowns as he notices that something is off.

"Why is it called Seven Echoes when it only has five strings?"

Although Ye Gui Feng didn't know much about the zither as an instrument he did know that the traditional Chinese zither had five strings to represents the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.

Each element is associated with a Heavenly Beast.

Metal is represented by the White Tiger.

Wood is represented by the Azure Dragon.

Water is represented by the Xuanwu Tortoise.

Fire is represented by the Vermillion Bird.

Finally, earth is represented by the Yellow Dragon.

The reason as to why Ming Yue Yao had replaced the element of wood with wind is probably because wind had more damaging effects than the vitality of wood. At the same time wind carries the materials needed for plants to make food which made it the perfect substitute.

According to the history that he had been taught Ye Gui Feng knew that the sixth string of the zither is something that had been added later by King Wen of Zhou who had mourned for the death of his son Bó Yì Kǎo (伯邑考).

Way later down the line King Wu of Zhou added the seventh string as a means to motivate his troops in the battle of Shang.

"..."

Or at the very least that is how Ye Gui Feng had remembered it to be but the history of this world might very well be different from his.

"You can only see the sixth and seventh string of the zither after you've mastered the first five. The two swords within the instrument are named Cányuè (黎月Translation: Cruel Moon) and Qíng Yuè (情月 Translation: Passionate Moon)."

Realizing that he will most likely end up having to learn to play this instrument if he wishes to use it as efficiently as Ming Yue Yao had done in the past Ye Gui Feng inwardly sighs and waves a hand to collect the Sha Luo Blood Sword.
