Four months go by in the blink of an eye.

During this passage of time Ye Gui Feng's plans on refining the painting had gone relatively smooth.

By now more than a thousand different types of magic treasures had been stored into the painting with all of them being controlled by a special type of magic array that will cause them to appear whenever there is a need for them to do so.

Having stored this many magic treasures into the painting Ye Gui Feng and Xiao Ju Hong are both confident that unless the person attacking Xiao Lian in the future is an Exalted Celestial none of them would stand much of a chance.

However, this still leaves them some room to feel insecure.

Everything beneath an Exalted Celestial should be manageable for the painting's arsenal of magic treasures but what if Xiao Lian does encounter someone that is an Exalted Celestial at some point in the future? What would she do then?

This is something that both Ye Gui Feng and Xiao Ju Hong didn't dare to leave up to chance considering how special Xiao Lian's existence is.

With that being the case Ye Gui Feng had decided to cast off his old True Shadow Body with the intent to refine it in an extensive manner.

Since the True Shadow Body's cultivation base won't increase any further than the Mortal Transcendence realm of cultivation Ye Gui Feng can only choose to refine it as a means of strengthening it further.

The refining of the True Shadow Body had used a bit of the Yaksha Monarch's blood. It goes without saying that the blood had been cleansed of all the Yaksha Monarch's essence prior to it being used.

Upon completing the refinements of the True Shadow Body Ye Gui Feng still felt a bit insecure about using it as is due to the materials that he had used to refine it.

Since he is unable to feel fully confident with the True Shadow Body Ye Gui Feng had left a large amount of his spirit senses in it while putting down a command seal.

This command seal is inscribed with a single order and that is to guard Xiao Lian without allowing any harm to succumb to her.

The strength of the True Shadow Body after that refinement should allow it to hold off an Exalted Celestial or in the worst case scenario it would detonate itself and buy time for Xiao Lian to escape.

Despite Ye Gui Feng's desires to continue strengthening the True Shadow Body even more to the point in which it can kill an Exalted Celestial he knew that he cannot possibly hope to do so.

Having casted off that True Shadow Body it goes without saying that there is no longer a shadow behind Ye Gui Feng's back anymore.

[...]

Sitting in front of the scroll painting that's still being refined Ye Gui Feng has stayed out in the Starry Seas for a bit more than three days now as he watches the refinement process gradually reach a state of completion.

[...Hm?]

*Crackle...!* a frown appears on Ye Gui Feng's face as he looks up towards the Primordial Continent with narrowed eyes in the manners of trying to see beyond the heavens that is currently above him.

[...]

For some reason Ye Gui Feng felt like he had just heard the sound of lightning coming from above his head.

[.........*Sigh*]

Pondering for a bit Ye Gui Feng can't help but sigh with a bitter expression on his face.
