These bolts of black lightning acted in a way that is very much similar to a legion of loyal soldiers in front of their regal ruler.

Each bolt carries the strength of a practitioner that is halfway there to the realms of a monarch making them perfectly capable of wiping away an Exalted Celestial in a single hit.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say the least that this insane shower of dark lightning would be all that it would take to destroy the entirety of the Primordial Continent should it occur there.

The intent to bring about "judgment" that is imbued into every single bolt of dark lightning mixes with the slaughtering intent that the Asura Monarch gives off causing his air of coldness to be filled with a sense of "logical violence."

Legend says that the Asura Monarch is a powerful ruler of lightning because he is the incarnation of heaven and earths' "eye."

This eye is something that keeps watch over the myriad lifeforms that live beneath the skies while acting as the world's judge.

Should this eye judge an individual to be deserving of a punishment then they will bring retribution down upon the person.

These divine retributions tend to take on the form of a lightning strike, hence lightning in the distant past are viewed as a symbol of punishment from the heavens by the ancient people.

To cultivators lightning is something that they must deal with whenever they make a cultivation base breakthrough.

The reason behind why there are tribulations is mainly because there are cultivators.

The existence known as "cultivators" in the eyes of this judge are people who have gone against the natural orders of the world in which they live in.

There is a natural road, a "Dao" for the myriad lifeforms to take upon birth and this Dao is something that the heavens had set for them.

But by going against the heaven's Dao cultivators chose to walk upon their own Daos to live longer while going against the heaven's original intentions for them.

To redirect the defiant individuals back onto the Dao that was intended for them the heavens would bring down lightning tribulations to kill them and have them restart their journey through the process of reincarnation.

These black lightning bolts can be considered the heaven's ultimate form of judgment that is only bestowed unto the most offensive individuals beneath it.

It is for a duty or a mission that these black lightning bolts have come into being and it is for the sake of fulfilling that duty or mission that they move and act to deliver judgment upon the myriad lifeforms that exist beneath this realm of heaven and earth.

For these types of lightning bolts to descend into a world means that someone or something within this realm of heaven and earth has committed a sin deserving of a monarch's personal judgment.

One can also say that these black lightning bolts are also a representation of the Asura Monarch's wrath and his judgment upon an individual.

In ancient times these black lightning bolts are something that all cultivators would tremble at the sight of for not a single practitioner beneath this heaven has survived the ordeals that the Asura Monarch's judgment had brought upon them.
