The Myriad Faces of the Heavens

Due to the unusualness of the extended winter season the air of the morning is always extra chilly.

As one might expect this frigid air makes it difficult for most people to find it in themselves to get up early in the mornings.

But despite that Ye Gui Feng had chosen to do so as he stands outside of the courtyard's gates with his hands behind his back.

With his eyes closed Ye Gui Feng continues to go over the ideas in his head about the method that he plans to use to turn his parting with his eternity into a temporary event.

This method's uncertainty is something that will require a great deal of effort to amend and increase its odds of success.

Upon picking up the abrupt movements of the air currents being forcefully shifted Ye Gui Feng opens his eyes and looks up at the gray skies.

From within the air Mo Xuan Yong descends and quickly pays formal greetings to Ye Gui Feng by clasping his hands together and giving a low bowing.

[Disciple greets master.]

Seeing Mo Xuan Yong after so long Ye Gui Feng smiles lightly and quickly has him straighten his back.

[Come, walk with me for a bit. I trust that you've brought the items that I had asked for?]

[Yes.]

With Ye Gui Feng leading the way the two walked off towards the right.

[How have things been back in the Ni Liu family's domain?]

[Despite the additions of outside practitioners things have been rather peaceful.]

As Mo Xuan Yong goes over some of the Ni Liu family's current situation and how the servant disciple plans are coming along the two continues to move through the woods with Ye Gui Feng occasionally commenting on some of the things that his disciple would report to him about.

[And what of Mu Ya and Hua Yao?]

[He's... Being rather annoying as he frequently comes over to me to talk about the things he did with her on a daily basis. It's... A headache to listen to him yapping away I guess?]

[Hahaha.]

That did indeed sound like something that Yao Mu Ya would do as Ye Gui Feng can easily imagine it.

[Well as his senior brother you'll just have to put up with it.]

Considering the circumstances of Yao Mu Ya's past he probably didn't have too many friends or clansmen of a similar age to talk to about these things.

Since Mo Xuan Yong on paper is his senior brother Yao Mu Ya probably found it natural to talk to him about these things.

At the same time with Yao Mu Ya's current status in the Ni Liu family he probably also finds it difficult to trust those who would readily come up to him in the hopes of instilling favors.

[Maybe you should do the same in the future.]

[That's...]

[No progress? Have you at least been visiting her?]

[...Well I've been keeping my distance.]

[Not exactly ideal. You should try to shorten that distance little by little if you're planning on turtling it out.]

[I'm still rather unclear as to whether or not I actually like her.]

As Ye Gui Feng had once said in the past Mo Xuan Yong is basically the exact opposite of Yao Mu Ya. His personality is a lot more stoic compared to the latter and this makes him very much awkward in these types of relationships.
