Why Am I Demisexual?

Hey. I haven't really seen any Demisexual books out there, and Demisexuality is hardly ever noticed in the community, and we have to let our voices be heard. I want to tell you why I'm Demisexual. Okay, here goes. When I was seven, or eight, I got sexually assaulted. It lasted for a long four months. It was weekly, and I don't wanna actually go in much detail... But I remember every second. This made me feel like I was vunerable to the outside world... I felt lost and upset.

Now, I can't trust people as much as before I was that age. I realise trust is a valuable thing - so is consent. I feel scarred for life... People often presume to Asexual/Demisexual people, that something happened in their childhood. Yes, for me - the stereotype kind of fits. Please, not all Asexual/Demisexual people have had something happen in their childhood! Please understand this. We all are like this for different reasons. Remember, you are important! :)
