She let her head fall dramatically to the surface of the tiny table in front of her. This was taking forever. Forever and a day, to be exact. When she would go outside again, surely every tree would have shriveled up by now. Everyone she knew would have lived on for centuries, as she could only assume scientists would have discovered the secret to eternal life in the time it took for this professor to plough through his class material.
She peeked at her watch, and her heart nearly stopped beating. Only five minutes had passed.
This professor might just have figured out the secret to eternal life already. It just wasn't very pleasant.
Author's Note: A tribute to one of my professors, who manages to end almost every single one of his sentences with an "eh" sound.
