When he finally got to open the treasure chest, his knees almost gave way. It was empty.

All the blood, sweat and tears, all the fellow pirates he sacrificed to attain it... It had all been for naught. After staring at the damned thing for a good long while, he pulled himself together again. He would find the sea goddess that cheated him out of a treasure. And powerful or not, he would get his revenge on her. He owed it to his fallen comrades.

But first things first: he needed a new ship. Preferably one faster than the one he sailed into ruins.
