Never having believed in "right" or "wrong", she fancied herself an expert at navigating the world in many, many shades of grey. And quite honestly, I wouldn't want to have it any other way.

It made her the perfect partner to strike up an alliance with, because I could always rely on her to deliver results, no matter the cost.

And the best part was, that I never had to get my own hands dirty with not-quite-so-grey blood.

At least, that's what I thought many moons ago. Before my hands were so bloody, I had no choice but to see the world as she did: with morality spread as thin as hope.

Author's Note: An alternative title could have been "More Than Fifty Shades Of Grey And At Least One Shade Of Red", but that wasn't nearly as catchy.
