46. Reflection

As he stared at his reflection in the mirror, something started to ripple on its surface. Right before his eyes, a second figure appeared. He knew, without having to turn around, that she wasn't standing behind him, like she was in the mirror.

It was the only way they could communicate, ever since she had gotten herself trapped in the parallel world. It was also the only way they could devise ways to get her out.

This time, however, was different. Before she could even utter a word, she was dragged from the surface of the mirror once more.

Now, all the mirror showed him was the face of a man in pain.
