She had failed. Not just a tiny little mistake, oh no, she had made a big mess of things.
For a normal person, that might not have been a big deal. They would have felt down for a bit, before getting up and walking it off in the end.
Matters got complicated when living the heroic life, however. You would have to put your best foot forward all the time. Be able to save the day, every second of said day.
And when a villain won the battle and conquered an entire galaxy on your watch...
Well, then you had a failure of catastrophic proportions on your hands.
