Reality could be a tough truth to swallow.
Especially when you're living in a world inhabited by many a powerful being, and you're one of the regular human beings. One of the mere mortals.
Still, he was one of the lucky ones, able to make a decent living working for said powerful beings. The work was difficult, but he liked the challenge.
The constant threat of working with people possessing strengths that put your wildest dreams to shame, well... That was quite something else.
There might be another way, he figured. If he was willing to play the long game, even a silly human like himself might get ahead.
A/N: There's this saying in my native language (Roughly translated: Who isn't strong, should be smart), which I think is a nice lesson in a world still a little to fixated on sheer power/strength.
