129. Exhaustion

He crumpled to the floor, his entire being seemed to fold inwards upon itself. He had never been this tired before, the kind of tired which made an entire day's worth of sleep seem like the only solution, and yet, he could not fall asleep for the life of him.

He hadn't even done anything special to warrant this kind of exhaustion, mind you. No, it was just life having caught up with him, throwing obstacle after task after hurdle in his path.

He had taken it all in stride, but sometimes even the most powerful batteries need to recharge. Even when the pile of paperwork still beckoned from his desk.
