72. Pretense

In a world filled to the brim with mages, he was the only person without magic flowing through his veins.

No one could know about this glaring weakness, and so he built his life on pretense.

That way, he had grown quite adept at all sorts of tricks and deceptions to make others believe he did possess magic. In fact, he had become so good at it, he began to call himself the Magician, and it became something of an inside joke only he could understand.

In a world were magic was seen as the greatest good, there was still something to be said about the adaptability of human beings.
