92. Innocence

There was no innocence left in this world, at least, no longer.

She used to be innocent once, although she could hardly even remember what she was like back then, or how she felt.

Now, all she knew was the struggle in a world gone crazy. A world where there was nothing left of value, and so they decided time was to be the new currency.

As she stole a man's last seconds, she kept checking her surroundings for a predator like herself. She was dangerous, sure, but she was not foolish enough to believe she was the most dangerous.

It was how she had been able to stay alive for centuries.
