She was only human. Of course she was not able to save everyone.
Still, the failure stung like hell. She had chosen to become a hero, even without any kind of superpower. Because she wanted to make the world a better place, because she wanted to save people.
And every time she failed at either of those goals, or worse, both, she died a little inside. A little piece of her mind would just give up, all hope lost to apathy.
If only she had known that this was how villains were born.
