There was something about walking towards your own death, that forced you to finally accept some hard truths about your own life.
She did just that, as she stumbled forwards slowly.
She had taken too many risks, and she had to accept that. She had not only put her own life in danger, but those of the very few people she truly loved, and she had to accept that. She might just have caused the greatest catastrophe this world had ever seen, and she had to accept that.
But her only chance to fix it was about to be taken away, and she refused to accept that.
