Pretty early on in her life she had learned the art of maintaining a poker face. Naturally someone with a short fuse, it became very clear that it would get her nowhere fast with other people. No, most like to deal with placid people, those who seemed content with just about anything. And that demeanor formed the perfect backdrop for her scheming.

And the people she surrounded herself with were so self-involved they became oblivious to her ulterior motives.

Not that she ever strived for any sort of power right in the limelight, oh no. She preferred to pull the strings backstage, and no monarch or politician was ever the wiser.
