The hero was faced with an unexpected conundrum as the minion before him continued to grovel for mercy.
"Have pity, kind sir, it was never my idea to fight you, see! It's our overlord, he makes the most horrible threats if we don't obey him. So please, please have mercy."
While it was certainly true that the being didn't seem the least bit threatening at the moment, they certainly had been trying to cut his head off only seconds ago.
"I'll cut you a deal. Help me defeat your overlord, and all the mercy in the world shall be yours."
The minion's eyes shone with mischief at the words.
