33. Seeing Red

The bloodlust had gotten a hold of him again. Vision blurred and edges darkened, his senses were now only focused on one thing: finding prey, and going in for the kill.

He sniffed the air hungrily, and there it was: a slight waft on the breeze, the scent of a human being. This was going down a lot easier than last time.

Starting to sneak up on his prey, covered by the shifting shadows, he couldn't have been more surprised when pain suddenly flared through his shoulder. An arrow. One covered in a silver coating, to be exact.

When he looked up, he realized he had been targeting a monster hunter. Or rather, she had been targeting him, he corrected himself as she grinned down on him.
