ScaryTober Day 28: Avengers
(This is from my other story, but I'll put it here lmao, there's gonna chapters ://)

We have a place, a compound.
We have a community.
It's safe here.
How many of you are there?
Are any of them children?
Because the fastest way
to get here is by the river,
and I don't think
you could make it with kids." The man on the Radio said.

A man went to his Two children for a talk. "Listen to me.
I'm only gonna say this once.
We are going on the trip now.
It's going to be rough.
It's gonna feel like
it's going on for a long time,
so it's gonna be hard to stay alert.
It's gonna be even harder to be quiet,
but you have to do both.
You have to do every single thing I say
or we will not make it.
Understand?
Under no circumstance are you allowed
to take off your blindfold.
If I find that you have, I will hurt you.
Do you understand?" They nodded understanding.
"It's cold. We have blankets.
Boy, you have your dog.
Girl, you have your kitty.
This is just a place.
There's nothing more that we need from it.
Do you understand?
And no talking on the river.
You must listen as closely as you can.
If you hear something in the woods,
you tell me.
If you hear something in the water,
you tell me.
But you never, ever
take off your blindfold.
If you look, you will die.
Do you understand?" Stephen asked. They nodded their heads again.
Stephen got the birds from the cage and put them in a Box.
He grabbed Boy and Girl's hands as he walked down the path counting their steps.
"One, two, three, four,
five, six, seven, eight.
Ah.
Twenty-eight, 29, 30.
Okay, this way. It's fine.
Thirty-one, 32, 33.
Where is it? Where is it?" He reaches his hand everywhere and touched the boat and grabbed it and pushed it in the ocean.

Five years Earlier, Music was playing as a Pregnant Stephen Strange was doing his work.

"Whoa
I take as much
As I can get
I don't take
Any regret
I think I'm com--
Mordo turned off the music as Stephen was working. Stephen glared at him. "Uh, Asshole, I was listening to that." He said.

"Yeah, so were the people down the street.
"The store was Packed, this thing seemed Serious." Mordo mentioned and opened the fridge. "Wow, you literally have no food." He said.
"What-- What thing?" Strange asked. "Are you serious?" Mordo asked him in disbelief.
"I'm serious." Stephen said.
"Turn on the news Dumb-Dumb."
Stephen grabbed the remote. "What channel Dumb-Dumb?" He mimicked the nickname.
"Anyone one of them." Mordo said and Stephen puts on the news as the News Reporter began to speak.
"Airports and train stations have shut down.
Streets are crowded with people escaping cities by car and on foot as witnesses report
unexplained mass suicides. First recorded in Romania, there's now an alarming spread of incidents into Europe and Siberia. Estimated death tollis in the tens of thousands...don't yet know what is causingthe mass suicides in Europe and Russia. The eyewitness reports tell of people exhibiting psychotic behavior. Our sources are telling us this does not appear to be pathological or viral.US authorities are advising the public to remain calm. There have been no officially confirmed inst--
Mordo muted the tv.

"Well, it's in Russia, so...
Well, try telling that to the soccer moms
fighting over bottled water. Speaking of which,
I just got off the phone with The ancient one.
"How come I have to update her about you all the time?" Mordo asked him.

"Why do you have to talk about me?" Strange complained.
"I'm not telling her about my life,
At three o'clock, I'm gonna go check out
an Arabian stud in Sausalito." Mordo stated
"See, now that is a sentence
you don't hear every day." Stephen said and looked at him. "You wanna come?"
Mordo asked. Stephen shook his head. "I can't. I got my OB with doctor Jackie." "Jackie? When?" Mordo's voice started to get high.
"Oh my god, why does your voice get high when it gets excited?" Stephen complained to him.

"How about I drive you?" Mordo said.
"No, I'm fine." Stephen said.
"I can go in. We can maybe see the baby." Mordo said.
"Or I can cancel the appointment
and we can go and do some magic." Stephen said.
"No fuck that." Mordo said. "Wow Such Venom." Stephen said sarcastically.
"What do you think?" Stephen asked showing his work.
Mordo looked at his work. "I think I see a whole bunch of people sitting together,
but they all feel incredibly lonely.
The loneliness is just incidental. It's really about people's inability to connect. Inability to connect to What?" Mordo said blocking his way.
"Can you move?"
"Stephen."
"I need you to listen."
"Mh-Hmm."

"That's not how it's gonna be for you. It's different for the baby. It's an immediate love affair." Mordo explained.
"It's not gonna be that way for me." Strange disagreed.
"Yes it will." Mordo said.
"No sir."
"You should be afraid of being alone,
not of this.
And what we need to do is get you...
...out into the real world
with other people,
not stuck in this tower all day." Mordo explained.
"You never leave.
Why should I leave?
I have you to get me groceries." Stephen said to him.
"You have to move." Mordo said.
"No, not moving." Stephen said.
"Yes you do." Mordo argued
"Not moving." Stephen Argued back.
"Why?" She asked.
"Not moving. I love my Sanctum!" Stephen said.

"I know it took you a long time to find a studio you loved, and ever since Christine left, you've gotten a lot more work done. But, so fine, so no more roommates." Mordo said.
"Christine was not a roommate." Stephen. explained.
"Uh, it turns out she kind of was. Anyway, can't raise a kid here, Where would you even put her?" Mordo asked looking around.
How do you know it's a She?" Stephen asked her. Mordo looked at him.
"Wishful thinking I guess.."
