-Chapter 81: I Guess Our Story Was Just Pretend

I turn to Gai as Nina waves at us. We're out for a walk together since Gai wants to seem more loving towards me. Apparently, he thinks he can compensate for his horrible ways by being a good husband in other ways. That or he is trying to get me to fall for him.

"Ah, you're Nina, right?" Gai asks her.

"That is right. I am Nina," she tells him, answering his question. I look over at her as she smiles at us. "You're the one she's married to, right? You're were our boss for a bit, correct?"

"That is correct and you're right that we're married. Oh, I see President Hiden on a walk with his secretary," Gai says and I look over as Aruto moves towards our way. I don't think he knows we're here. "President Aruto Hiden!"

Aruto turns his head a bit to where Gai is standing and gasps, looking surprised. He has been caught out by Gai and now he has no choice but to approach him. Gai is doing this for some reason and I want to know what is going on in his head. What made him call out to Aruto like that? Doesn't he hate him being around me?

Aruto turns to Izu and Izu points over at me, eyes on me. She has noticed me now and is probably convincing Aruto that it is a safe situation for him right now. I know that Gai has been kicking his butt in order to beat up HumaGears, so it logical for Aruto to be unsure about this.

Aruto rushes forward, Izu following him over to us, and I turn to Gai as he stares at Aruto with a smirk on his face. Oh, he's happy about this! Why is he happy about this? What is there to be happy about for him right now?

"President Hiden, it is a pleasure to see you in the flesh," Nina says, sounding starstruck. It isn't everyday that she is surrounded by some of Japan's finest rich CEOs. "I feel so out of place here since I'm so ordinary compared to all of you." 

I look at Nina and shake my head. "Don't feel that way. No matter who I am married to, I'm still the same old Mari." 

"What is your name again?" Aruto asks Nina. "Sorry for not knowing your name right now."

"Nina," I tell him, answering his question. "Her name is Nina." 

"Ah, right," Aruto says and I look at him as he nods his head. "I should have remembered a name like that. Sorry for not thinking of it." I just got to hope that she doesn't say anything stupid now to him and make me get all embarrassed in front of him.

"It is a pleasure to see you out this way, President Hiden," Gai tells Aruto and I look at him as he keeps his eyes on Aruto, staring at Aruto with his smirk still on his face. "I think there is something that I should give you in order to reward you for assisting my wife."

"Oh, you don't need to worry about that!" Aruto exclaims, probably trying to get Gai off his behind. "It was an honor to help your wife. She's really someone special isn't she? She is your wife after all." Yes, that I am.

"I think there is something I can give you. I think you will like it." Gai steps forward away from me and leans in towards Aruto, putting his face near his ear. What is he saying to him right now?

I look at Aruto as his facial expression changes a bit, looking a bit shocked. What is he being told? I want to know what is being said here! 

Gai steps back. "It is a business thing that is private. I would have said it aloud, but I don't think anyone here is that interested in it."

My eyes go to Izu as she narrows her eyes, pretty much glaring at Gai. She's taking after Aruto in personality lately. It is a good thing that she is learning things from him because he's so good and all to everyone. She isn't going to head on the wrong path by following him.
