-Chapter 128: Those Spoken Words are Pointless

"I am only here to help get rid of all my things out of your place. Aruto is sending a moving truck to assist, which will have to have humans. Have them sign contracts and pay them off if you are still wanting to hide our problems," I say, staring at Gai as he puts down his cup of tea.

"I am aware you came back for your things. The clothes-"

"I will not be taking the outfits you got me. I am not your doll." And none of those outfits are the ones I see myself enjoying. "You can keep them for when or if you find yourself a new wife."

"I have no intentions on marrying someone who is not you," he spits out, turning his head towards me and glaring. "I married you for a reason."

I nod slowly and look away. "I am aware that is what you did, Gai," I respond, sighing a little. "But it doesn't matter that you did. I am my own person and not your wife. I do not wish to be your wife any longer."

"I am not on the same page as you right now."

"It isn't like I expected you to be."

Gai put up a front when he got with me and that has faded away for a long time now. I see nothing in him. Nothing is all I feel towards this man and I honestly don't care what happens to him right now. He's allowed to be left in the dust all alone.

"You're going to realize that you're wrong for wanting to end things with me. I'm the only one for you."

"You can keep thinking that, Gai, but I am not going to have a change of heart." There is only one person I want to be with right now and that is Aruto. "There is no care for you inside of me. I care about you as a fellow human being though, but that isn't the same as actually caring about you. I do not love you."

"And what about that HumaGear? Don't you want to be with him right now? Shouldn't you celebrate your freedom with him?"

He's bringing up Horobo now? What does Horobi have to do with my plans with Aruto? Horobi is a machine with only one goal in mind. If he didn't have that one goal of his, I think we could be closer than we are now. Also, I thought he died and life moved on. Things change.

"I love Horobi still, but I want to be with Aruto. Things have changed for me," I state. "Gai, things don't always remain the same, alright? You have to understand that this world doesn't revolve around material things and things we wished for. Yeah, I wanted Horobi at one point and I can proudly admit that. But you know what? There is more than Horobi out there and there is more than you. I'm glad I met Aruto and relied on him."

Without Aruto, I would be willing to stay with Gai. I wouldn't have found out a lot of things about myself that I thought were gone for good. Aruto is good at making dreams and the wishes of others happen, which makes me extremely proud of him. I am glad I love him.

"Is he okay with you and Horobi getting along? They seemed pretty happy with meeting up with each other when it came to you," Gai asks. "Also, did Horobi enjoy your embrace with Aruto?"

I don't know if Horobi saw it or not, but I wouldn't doubt it. In that case, I'll let Horobi think whatever he wants for now. If he assumes I'm going to be his, I'll set him straight. I'm going to walk my own path alongside Aruto from now on.

"That is Horobi's business and not mine." I don't want to keep talking about Horobi right now. The focus should be on our separation, not on whether or not Horobi needs me right now.

"What don't I have that he has? Mari, I can give you more than what Aruto can offer you."

I laugh. "Seriously, Gai? You think that you can offer me something that Aruto can't? You know what you don't have that he does? Love for me. Aruto loves me while you don't and that makes a huge difference."
