|Vaughn's POV|

I had just finished talking to my tutor and going over what I needed to get done when the office door slammed open. My dad was standing there and he looked upset. What the hell?

"Uh dad?"

He took a deep breath before closing the door. He began to pace, looking over at me ever so often.

"You have a visitor," he said quietly.

"I do?"

"You didn't plan this?"

"Dad, I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Asher is here."

"He is?"

I couldn't help but smile. I swear that just pissed my dad off even more.

"You think this is funny?"

"Dad, I didn't know Asher was coming. Where is he?"

"He's with Shawn right now. He said he came to surprise you and was able to come into town earlier than he expected. Had I not been here you probably would've snuck behind your uncle's back to see him."

"Dad, that's not fair."

"It isn't? What else am I supposed to think when you sneak behind our backs and lie to us."

He was being really mean right now.

"Dad, I knew Asher was coming to town like next week or something, I just didn't get to talk to you or mom yet."

"Oh, when were you going to say something, before or after the fact?"

"Dad..."

"Vaughn, I asked you a question."

"Whenever I got full details, I'd tell you."

He didn't say anything else as he sat on the edge of the desk.

"Vaughn, I don't like the fact that he just popped up here with no warning..."

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Dad, how was I supposed to know he was coming? You just said it was a surprise, plus I don't have my phone."

Yeah, say something to that.

"You're right."

Wait, did he just say I'm right?

"I'm right?"

He nodded.

"Yup. Come on, let's go greet your guest."

I slowly stood up. How did he go from pissed to calm in a matter of seconds? Something didn't seem right.

"Dad..."

"Let's go."

He opened the door and motioned for me to walk out. We silently walked down the corridor that led to the training rings. Uncle Shawn was standing off to the side, chatting with Asher. As we approached, Uncle Shawn pointed in our direction. As Asher turned to us, his face lit up. I kept my cool as we approached. I knew my dad and uncle were watching.

"Hey, V," Asher said.

As soon as I got close enough to him, he pulled me in for a hug.

"Hey, Asher."

He held me closer to him longer than I expected.

"If you don't let go, my dad and uncle are going to say something," I whispered in his ear.

I heard my dad clear his throat behind me and Asher laughed, letting go.

"I missed you," he said as we broke apart.
