Out of anyone, anyone that could be sitting here, it was him.

I felt a dull pain pulse inside my forearm.

Kenny was sitting next to me.

He looked up at me from his chair, his eyes wide. Then his eyes drifted down, landing on the cast on my arm.

I sighed, rolling my eyes as I sat in the chair next to him. We were silent, both of us staring straight ahead at the computer in front of us.

After a minute of deafeningly awkward silence, I noticed one of Kenny's legs bouncing up and down quickly. He was nervous.

Suddenly, he stood up so quickly in his chair that it flew back a few feet. Everyone looked over at him after the sound.

Without looking at me, Kenny turns and walks up to the teacher's desk. The two exchanged quiet words, before Kenny started walking back.

"Miss Lynde, please switch seats with Mr. Payne," the teacher spoke aloud.

Kenny yanked his backpack off the floor and went to sit in his new seat. Another girl took his place in the seat next to me, greeting me with a small smile.

This is better for me, anyway.

"Eagle Fang's going global, boys... and girl," Sensei spoke as he drove Miguel, Robby, and me to Miyagi-Do.

The two boys sat in the back seat, taping up their hands and knuckles, while I sat in the passenger's seat. I haven't been able to do much punching since my injury, so all three Sensei's have been training me extra hard on my kicks instead. I've become one of the best kickers in the dojo because of it. They've even been teaching me kicks that I haven't seen before.

"Once we win the Sekai Taikai, people are gonna be lining up to put fangs on their backs," Sensei continued. "We're gonna need a second location, hundreds of gis, a training room with a couple of ice baths."

Robby, Miguel, and I all exchanged looks.

"Isn't that a little aggressive?" Robby asked.

"Hell, yeah. Gotta have ice in your veins to take over the karate game," Sensei replied.

"What does Mr. LaRusso think of all this? You guys are supposed to be going 50-50, right?" Miguel spoke.

Sensei shrugged his shoulders. "If LaRusso wants to open up a couple more dojos, he can be my guest. At the end of the day, people are gonna have to decide if they wanna learn karate from a car salesman or an actual sensei."

We were about to turn onto the street where the dojo sits, when Sensei decides to go straight. I looked at the turn, which was disappearing behind us, before looking over at Sensei.

"Sensei, you missed the turn. Miyagi-Do is back that way," I said, using my thumb to point behind me.

"Nope. Don't worry, Plaster Arm. I gotta make sure you guys don't go soft on me. We may be a combined dojo, but we're Eagles where it counts," Sensei answered.
