Laura P.O.V.
I wake up the next morning to Brieanna and Dylan jumping on my bed. I roll over and start tickling them. I suddenly feel a pair of arms wrapping around me. I roll over and see Tom. He is smiling at me. "Good morning love." he says kissing my nose. "Ew." the kids say and giggling at us. Tom winks at me and we tickle the kids. The kids are laughing like hyenas and the noise wakes Helena. I can see her standing in the doorway, smiling at the sight in front of her. "This would make an adorable Christmas card photo." She says. Tom and I blush and the kids giggle. "Maybe we could do one." Tom says, "One with you and me and the kids and one with you and Helena." I look at him with an eyebrow raised. "Wouldn't it send the wrong message, like you and I are married or something?" "Maybe, but who cares?" he says smirking at me. "I just don't want your family getting the wrong message." I say. "Don't worry about it, I've told my family about you and they are dying to meet you." he says. "Really?" I say. "Yes, they are hoping I'll bring you down for Christmas." "Can we go too, mum?" Brieanna asks. Dylan looks on looking hopeful. "I don't know. You should ask your mum first." I say. "I already did. She wants to meet the kids too." "Oh." I say, surprised. "Yeah, we can leave tomorrow and stay for a night." He says smiling. "What about Sylar? He's still sick. I don't want to take him out in the cold." "Don't worry sweetheart, I'll watch him." Helena says, smiling at me. "I can't ask you to do that, it's not your job." I say. I must have worn the guilty look on my sleeve again. "Laura, don't feel guilty, and I don't mind, its like having grandchildren and I enjoy it." She says, smiling at me. "If you're sure, I appreciate it." I say, feeling so lucky to have Helena. Later that day, Tom and I are packing our suitcases to go to his mums' house, thankfully the drive isn't long. Once I'm done with my stuff, I pack up Brieanna and Dylan's bags and Tom puts them in his car for the following morning. The next morning we are packed in the car and heading to his mums' house. Once we arrive, I see his mum exit the house. She hugs and kisses Tom and then looks at me. "Tom, who is this beautiful girl?" Tom puts his arm around my shoulders and says, "Mum, this is Laura and her kids Brieanna and Dylan. Baby Sylar was sick, so Helena is watching him." Tom says. "Hello Laura, I'm Sharon. It's so lovely to meet you, Tom has told me so much about you." I shake her hand. Brieanna steps forward and curtsies, since she is wearing a dress and says "Hello I'm Brieanna it's lovely to meet you." I look at her, thinking, how can this be my six- year- old daughter? Dylan then pipes up and says, "I'm Dylan." He also shakes her hand. "Laura, the kids are so polite." Sharon says. "They learn it from their mother." Tom says, giving my shoulders an affectionate squeeze. I blush under his touch and I can see his mum smirking. We then walk into the house. Tom leads us to the room where we are staying, which happens to be his childhood bedroom. Brieanna and Dylan are staying in the room next door. While I'm unpacking Tom says, "I'll be right back." "Okay." I say. He comes back a few minutes later with a smile on his face. "Did you accomplish what you needed to?" I ask. "Yes." he answers. "Can you believe it's almost Christmas?" Tom says. "No." I say. "What do the kids want for Christmas?" he asks. "All the kids Christmas shopping is done. There were two things I couldn't get them, at least not right now." "What?" Tom asks. I'm debating on whether or not to tell him. In fact, the kids have asked for the things I want. They want a daddy and a sibling. I decide to just tell him not before saying, "You have to promise you won't laugh, they are kids." "Of course not." he says. "The kids want a daddy and a sibling." I say. Tom looks at me for a minute and then wraps his arms around my waist and pulling me close to him. "You might be able to give them that after all." He says. "What do you mean?" "You'll see." he says smiling. After spending the time with his mum and having a blast, we head home.

Brieanna steps forward and curtsies, since she is wearing a dress and says "Hello I'm Brieanna its lovely to meet you." I look at her thinking how can this young girl be so mature. Dylan then pipes up and says "I'm Dylan." He also shakes her hand. "Laura the kids are so polite." my mum says. "They learn it from their mother." I say giving her shoulders an affectionate squeeze. I notice her blush under my touch and I can see my mum smirking. We then walk into the house. I lead us to the room where we are staying, which happens to be my childhood bedroom. Brieanna and Dylan are staying in the room next door. While Laura's unpacking I say "I'll be right back." "Okay." she answers. I head downstairs and find my mum sitting in the living room. I sit on the sofa and my mum  looks up at me. "What is it Tom?" my mum asks. "What do you think of Laura?" I ask. "I think she's lovely and the kids are adorable." She. says. "I want to ask Laura to marry me on her birthday." I say. "Have you asked her parents?" mum asks. "Helena is her mother, Laura has no parents, so Helena now has legal custody, she got the certificate of adoption, she's waiting until Christmas to tell Laura. Helena talked to me and I promised her, Laura had to be her daughter for a year before we get married and we have to wait until we've been married six months before having children." I say. "You agreed?" my mum asks. "Yes." I answer. My mum is looking at me almost in tears and says "You really do love her don't you." "With all my heart." I say. "Then you have my blessing," mum says, smiling at me. My mum hugs me, with tears going down her face. I head back upstairs planning the perfect proposal. I walk back into my room, a smile on my face. "Did you accomplish what you needed to?"she asks. "Yes." I answer. "Can you believe its almost Christmas?" I say. "No." she responds. "What do the kids want for Christmas?" I ask. "All of the kids Christmas shopping is done, there were two things I couldn't get them, at least not right now." "What?" I ask. I notice her pausing and thinking about whether or not to tell me. What she says next takes me by surprise "You have to promise you won't laugh, they are kids." "Of course not." I say. "The kids want a daddy and a sibling." she says. I look at her for a minute and then wrap my arms around her waist and pull her close to me. "You might be able to give them that after all." I say. "What do you mean?" She asks perplexed. "You'll see." I say smiling. After spending the time with my mum and having a blast, we head home.
