Melissa's POV

Months passed, we settled into our new life as man and wife. Really wasn't much different then before, just now had to get use to the name change. Outside of that, nothing was really different. I was much bigger now and was over being pregnant. I was two and a half weeks away from my due date. It was Seth's birthday, he didn't want to do a huge party like he normally did. A year ago, he was a single man, now he had a family. He said he would rather have something small. We did our family thing with his sister and dad as we went out to dinner. But I noticed his friends texting wanting to go out and have a few drinks. Seth kept telling them no. Once we go home, he got a phone call. I noticed the name and it was Mila. He looked at the phone as he didn't want to answer it. "Seth, answer the damn phone."

He sighed. He picked up. "Hey Mila." I saw him listen for a minute, then say, "No, I can't tonight. Lissa is only two weeks away from her due date, I think getting drunk right now isn't a smart idea."

I quickly took the phone from him and put it to my ear. He looked at me a little stunned as I did. "Hey Mila."

"Hey preggos." She chimed back.

"What are you trying to get Seth to do?" I asked.

She hesitated for a moment and said, "Well, a few people from work know Seth really isn't doing much for his birthday this year which is so different then the last few years but we understand why. So, we thought we get a few drinks tonight to celebrate his birthday."

"You'll keep an eye on him?" I asked.

"Of course." She quickly said back.

"Well, he will be there. I'll make sure of it." I told her. Seth looked at me a little upset.

"Seth is one lucky guy. Most women in your condition wouldn't want their husband to far from them especially with three other kids at home. You are something else." She told me.

"It's his birthday. He deserves to have fun. But I will talk to you later. He is eyeing me down like I did something horrible." I laughed, which he was as he seemed unhappy I told his friends he go out with them.

She laughed back. "Alright, tell Seth I will tell him where to meet us."

I hung up and quickly Seth said, "Why the fuck did you do that? I can't go get drunk when you are about to pop."

"It's fine, Seth." I told him. I was having braxton hicks contractions as I had them for a couple months now but I wasn't worried. I have done this three other times. I knew my body. "You should have fun on your birthday. Go out with your friends. Just get the boys in bed first."

He laughed slightly. "Oh, that will be fun." He said, sarcastically. Then he looked at me in admiration. "You are some type of wonderful."

"I know I am. Now go get the heathens to bed and go out with your friends." I said with a smile.

He smiled at me and leaned over. He kissed me gently, then got up. He got the boys in bed and got dressed. He came over to me and kissed me again. He then said, "If you need me, I am a phone call away. Okay?"

"I'll be fine, Seth. Go!" I laughed.

He smiled and gave me another peek then left. I sat on the couch awhile as I watched a movie. I noticed the contractions did get worse, but I had days where the braxton hicks were worse on certain days. After the movie was over, I decided to get a bath as I did hurt. I started the bath and quickly undressed. After it filled, I got in and soaked in it. I was there for about twenty minutes when the pains got worse. I went to get up and I couldn't. The pain was too intense. I went to find my phone and realized I left it in the bedroom. I realized these contractions were not braxton hicks at all. But it was already so bad so quickly, I was at the point I couldn't move without help. I breathed through it as a tear rolled down my cheek. I was alone and I had no way to call Seth. I prayed he wouldn't be out much longer. I was in the bath for another hour in intense pain. I was trying to keep calm. I cried to myself as I pushed through the pain. I wanted Seth so bad. Then I felt something different. I knew what was happening, my body was ready to push. I begged out loud to myself, "Please, god, no! Not now!"
