It's Just a Breakup

Yoongi stared up at the ceiling. He didn't want to do anything today. He just wanted to lay around and cry. His girlfriend for a year said that she didn't want to be together anymore and when Yoongi realized that she left him to get with one of his good friends, he felt even worse. He didn't want to talk to anyone. So he just laid on the couch under a blanket that was pulled up to his nose.

But you, having experience with this type of thing, stumbled upon Yoongi sulking on the couch. You leaned over the back and smiled at him. When he cracked his eyes open, you could see the murky sadness lurking behind them. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"Nothing," Yoongi muttered.

"Oh, yeah sure," you rolled your eyes. "Totally nothing."

"You can't fix it," Yoongi said. "So what's the use telling you?"

"I can help you feel better?" you asked.

"Good luck," Yoongi murmured before shutting his eyes once again.

"Hey," you called determined to make him feel better. You climbed over the back of the couch and plopped down on top of him, taking the breath out of him lungs when you landed on him. He groaned, but you dismissed it, sitting crossed legged on his body. "What's going on?"

"Just a breakup," Yoongi gasped, trying to retrieve his breath.

"Ah." You thought for a second. "Do you remember when Jin fell down the stairs?"

Yoongi raised an eyebrow. "What does that have to do with anything?"

"He was carrying that smoothie, remember?" you continued, hoping to distract Yoongi from his sadness and make him smile. "It went everywhere."

Yoongi didn't respond and you thought of something else.

"Oh! Yoongi, what about the time you used Jimin to mop the floor?" you giggled. "That was pretty funny.

"And that other time when a fly flew into Namjoon's drink and he drank it.

"Or when Taehyung and Jungkook fell off the rafts when we went to the lake?

"How about when I tried to ride that hoverboard?

"Or when you went to the aquarium with Hoseok and I and everyone kept asking if you guys were my dads?"

And you kept spilling out random memories because you slowly noticed the smile return to Yoongi's face. His teeth soon poked out from behind his lips and that's when you leaned down and kissed his cheek. "Forget about her, okay Yoongi? She's not important. Family is."
