Report Card

It was the end of the first semester of freshman year. You had finally finished finals week and now all you had to do was make it through Christmas and New Year's until school started back up. That would be all fine and dandy, but you couldn't get finals week off your mind, despite it being over and done with. You were worried about your grades, since each test was worth 20% of your grade and you had no clue how you were doing in your classes. You stayed positive, though, even knowing that you probably failed half of them.

"Your report card came in today," Jin pointed out, grabbing an envelope off the kitchen counter. You sucked in a breath and stared at the white envelope in the eldest Kim's hands.

"What if you failed everything and have to redo freshman year?" Yoongi asked.

"Stop that!" Hoseok reprimanded. "Don't worry her!"

"I'm sure she did just fine," Jimin countered.

Jin gave you a sorrowful look as he opened the letter. He sighed and shook his head. "I'm afraid Yoongi might be right."

"Oh shoot." Yoongi's eyes widened. "I was just joking."

"She failed?" Taehyung questioned.

"But I-I-I studied!" you cried. "Wha- How?"

Jin shrugged. "I don't know, princess. I really expected more out of you."

"Just show her the dang paper," Jungkook demanded, his nose twitching. He didn't like the suspence that was growing in the room.

"Yeah," Namjoon agreed. "I'm sorry. It's probably my fault. I didn't ask you how you were doing most of the time."

Jin slid the folded paper over to you and looked at you with expectant eyes. "See for yourself."

You took the paper with shaky hands, ready to see sixties lined up in a row across from each class. You weren't ready to fail. But you unfolded it, and looked at every grade.

And the weight lifted off your shoulders.

"Uh, 98.77 in Biology," you muttered.

Yoongi blew out a whistle. "I didn't think that was possible."

"98.23 in government," you continued. "98 in English, 97 in geometry, 100s in Spanish and Health." You breathed out a sigh and smiled.

"Don't you have another class?" Taehyung asked.

"A 99 in labs," you replied.

"Huh," Jungkook uttered. "You must've cheated or something."

"How do you get a 100 in Spanish?" Jimin questioned.

"I don't know," you grinned. "But I did it!" You clapped your hands. "I did it!"

"You're so great!" Hoseok cheered.

"I knew you could do it!" Namjoon joined in.

Jin nodded. "I think this calls for a celebratory dinner, hm?"

"Totally!"
